Torbay And South Devon Nhs Foundation Trust Description

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated organisation providing acute health care services from Torbay Hospital as well as community health services and adult social care.

The Trust runs Torbay Hospital and a number of community hospitals. We provide health and social care stretching from Dawlish to Dartmouth, out to Ashburton and the surrounding areas.

We have around 500, 000 face-to-face contacts with patients in their homes and communities each year and see over 78, 000 people in our Emergency Department (A& E) annually. We serve a resident population of approximately 290, 000 people, plus up to 100, 000 additional visitors at any one time during the peak holiday season.

We are proud to be part of a healthcare community that works in partnership to provide the best possible health and care for its population. Our partner organisations include, Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Torbay Council, Devon County Council and Rowcroft Hospice. Along with the South Devon and Torbay Clinical Commissioning Group, we are all members of the local JoinedUp Board, which makes decisions about how to develop services to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

The Trust was formed on 1st Oct 2015 with the joining of two healthcare organisations; 'South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust' and 'Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust'.
