Torbay Velopark

The Velopark will be closed all day Saturday, 15th September. Sunday, 16th September, the Velopark will also be closed but only until 4.00 pm when the track will be open the last two hours for adult riding.

The Velopark will be closed Wednesday, 12th September from 3.00 pm till 5.00 pm

We have 6 bikes which were originally from the recycling centre, they have been refurbished by inmates at HMP Channings Wood. You can purchase these for £17.50 and the money goes back in to the project. For more information please call 01803 522240.

Ride for Rowcroft is BACK for its third year AND with a new exciting additional route for 2018! Taking place on Sunday 14 October, you can gear up and sign up to either ‘The Classic’ ride, a 24km cycle around Chudleigh, Bovey Tracey and the Teign Valley, taking in the countryside or our more gruelling 32km cycle;‘The Haytor Hill Climb’ which is new for 2018! An extension of The Classic ride, your adrenaline will be pumping and legs burning as you pedal uphill towards the Dart...moor icon, before returning to Newton Abbot Racecourse for a cuppa and some hot food! we went down with mixed feelings but really enjoyed it. we went on a good recommendation from a friend. did 5 laps to start with and will definately go back again soon.

Yesterday was a first to see my son cycle without stabilisers on the little track. I've been there around 3 times now, each time the staff have been so supportive & said kind words of encouragement, I think it helped his confidence. It's great to have the velopark in the area, a lovely safe environment for kids & adults. We will certainly come again � :)

Wonderful facility - I can't ride a bicycyle but here I can hire a tricycle for an adult and the staff are very helpful, it's wonderful to ride round in safety and feeling safe on a three-wheeler - reminds me of when I was a child, it's such fun.

What an awesome circuit you guys have made, what an asset to cycling and an asset to your tourism. Made for an excellent race night and by day i understand a favourite with the youngster. Promote it with all the events it deserves.

We visited Torbay velopark yesterday and today, and the staff there were fantastic very helpful and I have never ridden a bike before and they helped and I came away today being able to ride.



The facilities are excellent and there is a van there selling hot drinks and bacon sandwiches and various cakes.



I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we can't wait to go back.

Took my two girls yesterday one can ride fine other I wanted to be able to ride without stablisher and what can I say the chap who served us gave me some advice as to what to do and within 15/20 mins she could ride without. Certainly will be heading back over there this weekend. Great place, girls loved it.

I use the Velopark with my father who is almost 80, we both enjoy our rides there. People are always friendly. One time, my chain came off, and a nice chap helped me as it was well and truly wedged in the frame. He even pushed me back in to base, so I could swap my bike.

I took my two youngest boys here today for the first time. My 9 year old must have cycled at least 10k and loved it and my 7 year old learnt to ride with no stabilisers ...yay! The lovely man at the office was very helpful and helped us with a couple of minor bike malfunctions. We'll be going again very soon !! ☺

Great facility. Surface is very smooth. I have cycled on it and inline skated on it at the revolution skate events each Friday. Would be great if it was open to skating more often as you can really skate at speed and hammer some laps in safety and not have to worry about cars

Excellent facility with a great staff. Now with an superb tea bar. Grandchildren put this on the to do list when visiting the bay. Staff very knowledgeable and having watch the trainers they are good and inspire confidence. Phil trained my two youngest grandchildren on a recent visit and had them up and riding without support within two hours. Long may this facility be available.

During October half term 2016. I brought my son to the velopark everyday as his sister was competing in the local sports hall. Staff were so helpful and very friendly. Thank you!! X

Brilliant. Best £2.50 a cyclist could spend. I spent an hour whizzing round the circuit yesterday and achieved 20 miles which would be impossible around the streets of Torbay with all the traffic lights and traffic. Would fully recommend to anyone who enjoys traffic free, fast cycling!

As always the Velopark was very good, my son had a great time riding round the track and I enjoyed a nice drink sat watching him. Shame it has been sold off to the leisure centre, I hope the prices don't go up and they keep the guy in his stand down there otherwise I think they will lose alot of people.

This place is good the beach is brilliant even the traffic warden was I'm a coach driver and I will recommend this place to anyone who is looking for some nice place to go

It's a great facility with extremely helpful staff at the Venue.

As a full time worker I would like to have one or two weekly evening rides and if it could be opened until 20:00 Tuesday/Thursday I'm sure that it would be very popular in the Summer season.

I have just recently started using the park to get a bit more exercise. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. I love using this park as I would never go on the roads as it's the first time in about fifty years since I was on a bike! Once more established, not sure if there are any plans for shrubs, trees etc, it could become a more peaceful, safe place for all to use.

Great staff and really friendly. Great venue too. Shame no toilets on site and maybe 1 more eve for general public as most people work in the day so can only get there 1 eve or a weekend.

The velo park was ok,and there was a trailer selling chips,coffee and cakes but no sweets for the children.we were told that the velo park was trying to encourage healthy eating?Surely this is a parents choice and as a treat is ok,especially as caffeine cakes and chips can hardly be classed as healthy!i also know that the velo park has turned down a supplier of sweets that would have cost them nothing and raised money for a children's charity!

The park is great and ideal for various stages of bike riding. The only complain I have is the miserable man in the hut who came over and was quite abbusive. It was our 5year olds first time without stabilisers and my husband had to run alongside her to make sure she kept her balance we did not cause any problems for anyone. The response we got from the man in his hut was rude and unnecessary. His attitude was all wrong which was such a shame and spoilt our experience.
