Tuesday saw the Torquay Salvation Army Love Lunch Club sit down to their long-awaited Christmas Dinner. After a short prayer given by Capt. Andy Toby. They sat down to a 4-course meal with Christmas crackers. The meal finished with a short Nativity play directed by Capt. Andy and including all those sitting down to the meal. This Nativity showed that not only was Christmas a time of celebrating the birth of Christ but also a time to bring everyone together, no matter their creed, race, faith or colour. I would like to give a special thanks to Andrea Bailey for arranging the decorations, waiting on table and doing all the washing up. Stephen Little for helping with the decorations and waiting on table and Mel Toby for waiting on table. Without their help the meal would not have been the success it was. A good time was had by all.

Thank you so much to staff and customers of The Entertainer shop in Torquay for their generousity and partnership with Torquay Salvation Army Church and Community Centre.
Every gift that was donated has now been matched to a family in need and is currently making it's way to a Christmas tree somewhere in Torquay to bring some extra joy on Christmas morning to a child.
Pictured here is Captain Andy Toby and Andrew Bichard (Community Manager) with the Manager from The Entertainer.

Every year we run the 'Torquay Salvation Army Toy Appeal' working with Social Services and other agencies, we aim to make sure every child referred to us gets brand new presents to open on Christmas Day, and that every family referred to us receives a 'Christmas Hamper'
Brand New toys and Money are generously donated by those who wish to partner with us and help those for whom Christmas is difficult time in our community. Could you help us to help others?
... Can you partner with us to make this Christmas special for a local family? Will you donate either a brand-new toy or money of any amount?
