We didn't get much cold weather this winter so naturally this experiment didn't come up..... Make some ice cubes of different sizes use a butter pot or small lunch box and an ice cube container or bag (put food colouring in some with lolly pop sticks or straws or the likes as can paint with them then 😊) leave some plain and see which ones melt the quickest will it be the small ones or big ones...
Make predictions first...
Then monitor what happens...
... To make it more interesting place one in the sun one in the shade one in fridge and leave one in the freezer (a small one maybe 😋) and again get your child to predict which one will melt first and why before you carry out your experiment...
Then monitor your findings and discuss why x
New word for some melting, slippery, freezing, chilly (other words to use instead of cold) solid, liquid.. ....
You can also melt chocolate and or make jelly as all linked to melting and liquid and solid play xx
Remember to have fun is the main thing laugh and joke can you hold it on the end of your nose for 10 seconds count together or even longer 🥰🤣
