I’m here all weekend alongside painters, ceramicists silversmiths and lots of other clever artists and makers. Lots to see and cake to die for, pop and say hello if you’re free 😊

So my lovely Yorkshire friends I have a question, is the saying ‘It’ll be reet’ or ‘It’ll be reyt’? I have my own opinion but just wondering what the majority of Yorkshireites think?

Touchy Feely Textiles will be taking part in this open house event with the talented Sarah this weekend 🙂

I’m taking part in march meet the maker 2019 where you get to learn a little bit about the person behind Touchy Feely Textiles Day 2 - How you started. These pictures used to be my commute to work before I started my business and the last one is the phenomenon that is ‘stairway to the moon’ I have always sewn, right back from as far as I can remember, I left school at 16 with very few qualifications and went straight into a sewing factory where I ...spent my days on production lines working on orders for M&S, sounds a bit dreary but I loved it!
Two decades and two children later, I went to art school, gained qualifications and worked my way up to an arts degree then a post Graduate teaching qualification which gave me the confidence to take a leap of faith and move forward.
Strange as it may seem the first thoughts of setting up my own business were born while I was teaching in a remote location in Karratha in western Australia. Well that’s another whirlwind of a year over and done, sorry I’m a bit late with this post, we had a few days away & just got back.
I’d like to take time and say a quick thank you to each and every one of you, newcomers and long-standing returners who have liked, shared and bought things from me and in doing so supported my little business over the past few years, it means so much, you’re amazing! It’s upwards and onwards and I’ve been away from my sewing machine just long enough to get me champing at the bit to get cracking again. Lots of new ideas and things I’m planning to try out so watch this space 😀
