This morning John Biggs and @mayorofhackney joined staff and councillors from both councils, as well as community representatives to unveil this special rainbow crossing to celebrate Pride.
The crossing at the Hackney Road junction with Queensbridge Road, spans the borders of Tower Hamlets and Hackney Council and is a colourful and powerful symbol of pride, celebration and solidarity with our LGBT+ friends and neighbours.
Coming Together to recreate the famous Beatles Abbey Road crossing photo are (left to right) Cllr Carole Williams from Hackney Council, Philip Glanville, Mayor of Hackney, John Biggs, Mayor of Tower Hamlets and Cllr Kevin Brady from Tower Hamlets Council.
