To support staff’s professional development we use Personal Development Log’s (PDL’s) to evaluate our own learning whilst working with children. Managers spent time looking over each staff members PDL before selecting one that demonstrated reflection, learning and positive impact on children’s daily experiences at nursery. Steph, in Baby Room was selected for Audley Road for her comprehensive PDL that reflects a breadth of learning within her role at the nursery. Steph is a very reflective practitioner and when learning knowledge or skills she implements this to support her own practice and that of others with the children at the fore front. Well done Steph !!

Within nursery, we encourage our team to use a Personal Development Log (PDL) to support their personal and professional development, evaluate their own learning and reflect on how they work with children and as part of a team. At Townhouse Lawton Road, Sally our Toddler Room Supervisor was chosen as having an inspiring PDL that reflects on her own role in supporting others through coaching and mentoring, helping them to reach their full potential. Well done Sally!

I would like to take a moment to introduce Amber Wood who has recently accepted the position here as Baby Room Senior at Lawton Road. Amber has spent the last few weeks building relationships with the babies and getting to know families Amber is a Level 3 practitioner who has previously worked closely with young children and has lots of experience and personal attributes to bring to the setting. Amber is here five days a week, so I'm sure you will all get the opportunity to meet her over time. On behalf of the team and families, a very big warm welcome Amber.

Preschool have wished bon voyage to Gilby who is moving to Canada. The children planned a farewell party hosting a party snack with pancakes and maple syrup, pineapple chunks, cheese and lots more. We finished the morning off with a farewell circle time with George giving Gilby a gift and all of his friends presenting him with a lovely Townhouse hoodie. We have had a lovely Christmas Dinner today prepared and made by our top chefs Michelle and Wendy. The children thoroughly enjoyed their lunch throughout the nursery. It certainly got the thumbs up from the children and staff. Preschool children had fun pulling the crackers and telling lots of jokes.

The team at Townhouse would like to say thank you to Alsager Round Table and Alsager Ladies Circle for inviting us to be part of the Santa float team in Alsager. It has been a magical experience seeing everyone out in the community. It has been a joy to put a smile on so many faces whilst wishing them a Merry Christmas. You share with us a passion for the community and it certainly shined each time we have helped you. Thank you to all the lovely people who provided us with food and drink treats throughout our journey. We will be back for 2019 thank you.

We have had a fabulous stay and play session this afternoon at Audley Road. St Luke's Cheshire Hospice provided an magical experience bringing Santa on his double decker bus to see all of our children. We had a fabulous turn out from our families who helped us make the end of term very festive. A shout out goes to all of the team who have planned and set out fabulous experiences for the children to take part in and our top chef Wendy who has made delicious turkey baps for everyone. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas from the team at Townhouse.

Wendy's festive kitchen is officially open! Our top chef is busy preparing hot festive sandwiches, gingerbread biscuits and mince pies. We are looking forward to seeing our families for our festive stay and play this afternoon.

We would like to announce that Sam has been awarded employee of the month. Sam has worked incredibly hard in her role as third in charge supporting Rebecca and Alison to lead the nursery. Sam goes above and beyond supporting her colleagues and this was shown through her coaching staff through cohort tracking. Sam demonstrates the company values in her daily practice giving her families a true sense of belonging through daily interactions and parent evenings. Whilst growing in... her role as third in charge Sam has been curious to learn and ask questions to enable her to reach her full potential and be an outstanding supervisor and leader. Sam has organised and ran the nurseries involvement at the Alsager light switch on where she created activities for families and children to take part in whilst spreading the festive cheer with her team. Well done Sam!

Rebecca won Team Star award this was a very special moment as this award was voted for by our fabulous team.
As it was an 80s fancy dress theme there had to be some winners for best dressed! It was a very hard decision made by Emma and Julie. Kerry was awarded runner up for her fabulous rubix's cube outfit.

It's a tough job choosing the right nuersery for your child, especially when they have additional needs. From our first visit we knew that there was no other nursery for our daughter. A home away from home with the perfect balance of nurture and guidance. There really was no better nursery for us, thank you.
