Yard Update Another busy week for TLR as we ran both Swilly Sunset and Moroval. Swilly went to Huntington earlier in the week and finished fourth. We were very happy with Swilly's improvement from his recent runs. He should pick up his handicap mark this week coming. It will interesting to see how he fares against similar rated horses! Moroval travelled to Uttoexter today and finished fourth in his race. I was happy with the run but think he needs softer ground so either I need to watch the weather or wait for the autumn. Decisions🤔. Once again I'd like to thank the owners of Swilly for making the journey to Huntington on Tuesday evening, it was great to see you all!

When they say sport can be tough, they are right and horse racing is no exception! On a week that offered so much, delivered so little. We found four races in a week that suited our horses and we decided to go for it and race all our race-fit horse in the week. We have never done this before but we like a challenge😀. The week started with an amazing article in our local paper, the Northampton Chronicle, featuring one of our syndicates, The Nap Hand Partnership. It was a pleas...ure to read as it encapsulated all the reasons why TLR works and why we do it (please give it a read). Our first race of the four was with Ring Moylan at Fontwell on Wednesday. Ring Moylan was running very well for two circuits and was leading then seemed to stop enjoying the race. Graham got him over the line and we later found Ring Moylan had bashed his leg somehow on the third circuit resulting in a nasty cut and brusie. We need to get the vet in on Monday. Second race was with my new horse Moroval and it was great to see him in my own colours at Huntington. On the whole it was a good effort from him on his first run out for us. We look to get more out of him as he gets use to racing again. For the third race we travelled with Swilly Sunset to Market Rasen on Friday. This was Swilly's second race over jumps and he continued to make some progress in converting from the flat to jumps. We would have liked him to be further up the field than he was but this will come with time and more runs over fences. Forth race was the toughest as we took Jonjoela to Plumpton on Sunday. This is a race we had targeted for her as we felt she was more than capable of producing a top three finish. Unfortunately, it was not be as for some unkown reason Jonjoela did not fancy the race today and gave Graham a terrible ride around the East Sussex track. We all came away very disappointed with the day. We will spend this week getting over our busy week and look to come back stronger than before. On a postive note, we won 4 out of 4 best turned outs. I would swap them all for just one top 3 finish.

Yard Update Swilly Sunset had his first race for us today at Huntington.Swilly has been making the transition from a flat winning horse to a NH Hurdler. We have been working very hard over the last few weeks making this happen and would like to thank Graham Carson for all his hard work. The plan for the race was to Start, Jump and Finish and we were delighted we achieved all of our targets. We would have liked to have finished up the field by a few places, but you can't have... everything in your first race over fences. We are now looking at our next targets for Swilly as we feel the horse has some potential over hurdles. I again i'd like to thank our owners for travelling with us to Huntington. Special mention to Chris Butler and James Frampton who joined us for the first time today. It was great to have you guys on board. Also great to see Archie Kevin Perry back with us after long absence due to work commitments. Great to have you back Kevin! In other news we won best turned out again😀! Well done again Race Team! If you would like to join Chris and James and experience the thrill of owning your own Horse we still have some shares in our horses.

Yard Update We travelled to Fontwell today with Jonjoela as we thought she should have another go at the larger obstacles in a smaller field, we were happy with her performance. As expected the race broke into two sepertate races, unfortunately we were pipped in our race for third. The race team picked up another best turned out😀. I've said before it's great to see the hard work of our race team rewarded time and time again. Well done team! Once again thank you to my owners who again travelled in there numbers to cheers Jonjoela home. In other news we are getting very close to running Swilly Sunset in his first jumps race for the yard. He will be joined by Ring Moylan and Moroval making an apperance in late April.

Yard Update Today we had an a away day, and made the journey to Newmarket to school and gallop Swilly Sunset. Swilly is making the transiton from a flat horse to a jumper and is making marvellous progress and we may see him on the track very soon😃. We also took the opportunity to take some of our owners along with us so they could experience all Newmarket has to offer. We then finished off the morning with a fantastic Sunday dinner at the Best Western Heath Court Hotel. If you would like to join us next time on a owners days we still have a shares in Swilly a five time winner on the flat!

Yard Update We traveled to Hereford Racecourse on Tuesday to give Jonjoela her first outing over the larger obstacles since last autumn. We knew the race would split into two seperate races with the higher rated horses making the running. We were delighted she finished fourth and jumped well. We were also very happy to win another best turned out😃. The team here at TLR take massive pride in the appearance of the horse and it's great to see their hardwork rewarded on a regular basis. As always I would like to thank our loyal owners who made the long journey to Hereford to cheer home Jonjoela. I would also like to thank you guys for following TLR here on Facebook. It's great to know that the followers of our great sport of NH racing are still interested in the smaller trainers as well the larger ones. Thank You!🐎🐎🐎

Yard Update This morning we had some of our owners over for a schooling session with Jonjoela and our jockey Graham Carson. They braved the wind and the rain (what a difference a week makes!) and we were treated to some fine jumping from Jonjoela. Graham then took to the gallops with the ever improving Swilly Sunset who was wearing his new specially made shoes for the first time. We then retreated back to the office for a hot cup of tea and a look at some potential races for our horses. We would like to thank our owners for braving the elements to see their horses perform at home. If you would like to join them in the future we still have some shares in some our horses.

Yard Update
We were back racing at Warwick Racecourse and it felt so good to be back racing!🐎 Everything was in our favour the ground was good and the weather was fantastic a lovely sunny spring day. We were giving Jonjoela her first run in two months and she performed well and blew out some cobwebs. Would have liked her to finish a bit higher up the field but it was her first run back. I would like to thank the owners who turned up in their numbers, great to see them all enj...oying the day in the sunshine. We are now working hard to get the rest of our horses running very soon.

Yard Update We are starting the process of getting our horses fit after giving them a few weeks off over the Christmas period. Ring Moylan picked up a knock on his knee after his trip to Cheltenham and this resurfaced after race at Fakenham. We continue to monitor his knee out on the gallops. Looking to return to the racecourse late Feb early March. Jonjoela started her return to the gallops today and she absolutely loved being back on the gallops. We hope to have her back ...racing very soon. Swilly Sunset continues to make the transition from the flat to jump racing. He has been doing some pole work this week. It was very interesting to see a feature on ITV Racing on the plight of the staff shortage in racing and the commitment the staff give to their yards. We are a very small yard with only a small amount of horses but we work very hard 365 days a year and sometimes we have to take other work to make ends meets. I hope that racing can take a look at this problem and come up with a solution to help attract staff and help the smaller yards survive. Until this happens we will continue to get up, train our horses and go racing!

Merry Christmas a video from one of our owners Archie Kevin Perry. This is what we do when we are not training horses 😂😂

Yard Update Now that Christmas is upon us it is time for an update. We travelled to Fakenham on Tuesday with Ringmoylan and we won best turned out again😁. Well done team! In the race Ringo as we call him in the yard look good his ears were pricked and he seemed to be enjoying himself. But our jockey felt a twinge in the horse and aired on the side of caution and pulled up the horse. We have since found an issue with Ringo. Good call Graham Carson! We would like to take the opportunity wish you all a Merry Christmas from all the team at Tracey Leeson Racing☃️☃️🐎🐎🎅🎅

Yard Update Today we had our Owners 2018 Christmas Dinner at the The Butchers Arms, Greens Norton. We had a fanstatic afternoon with great food and great company. Our jockey Graham Carson joined us and gave us some fascinating insight into Swilly Sunset and the world of horse racing from the point of view of a jockey. I would like to thank my loyal owners who have stuck by me this year through the good times and when things did not go according to plan. You guys are amazing!! If anybody would like to join us for 2019 we have only a few shares left, one in JonJoela and two in Swilly Sunset. We keep the syndicate down to twelve members so all member can go racing when the horse runs. #TeamTLR
