How inspiring is Sean? The good news is this is possible for any of us, if we come to group and soak up all the help, support and encouragement there is in group to help you every step of the way. Group is where the magic happens. Why not allow yourself that 1 hour a week to plan for the week ahead, and go away inspired to have a great result on the scales every week. Nothing changes if nothing changes <3 Xxx

Recipe(s) of the week by Gilly Boswell, a member of one of our fab groups:-
We were given rather a large pumpkin last week so rather than waste it I decided to roast as much of it as I could then purée it. What can you do with pumpkin purée...? How about spiced pumpkin soup or a nice pumpkin pone as a dessert? Both are Syn free and both are delicious! I decided to make a pone. It's based on an Ainsley Harriot recipe which has origins in Jamaica cuisine but it's so easy to mak...e! Why not give it a go?
1lb of pumpkin purée (or 1 tin of unsweetened pumpkin purée) Sweetener to taste 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1-2 teaspoons mixed spice 4 large eggs, beaten Grated nutmeg for the top 25-50g sultanas (optional but if using they're 4 Syns per 25g - you don't need many)
Preheat your oven to 160C and spray an oven-proof dish with Frylite. Beat everything together in a large bowl, adding as much or as little mixed spice in as you fancy. Pour the mixture into your dish and sprinkle the grated nutmeg over the top. I've been known to put pecan halves (11 halves = 1 HeB or 6 Syns) on the top with 15mls of maple syrup (2 Syns per 15mls) over the pecans before it's cooked Bake in the oven until it's lightly browned and set. Serve warm or cold as a dessert or a snack. Keep any unused pone in the fridge - keeps for 3 days in there (if you can resist it!). Enjoy!

Feeling Fab At 50!
Liz Brown, from Dorchester, has defied the odds by slimming down by 5 stone and 4 dress sizes!
Liz, aged 53, who is a wife, Mum of 3 and Nanny of 3, and works at Dorchester hospital, was shocked after seeing a photo of herself at her Dad's funeral, for which she had had to buy a size 20 dress. She had tried ... dieting on several occasions but quickly found she was hungry which made her miserable and the diets didn't last.
Some work colleagues encouraged her to try her local Slimming World group which she did, after Easter 2018, and found her group ( Tracie's Dorchester Saturday group which meets every Saturday at The Old Salvation Army Hall, Durngate Street at 9am ) to be welcoming, warm and friendly, which put her at her ease straight away.
Liz found she could enjoy all her favouite meals like cottage pie, spaghetti bolognese, curries and even home made burger and chips with a fresh, crunchy salad, without having to cook separately for her husband and family. She could still enjoy some of her favourite treats in moderation such as chocolate and crisps, which was unheard of when she was dieting.
Soon, Liz found the weight was dropping off her, with the support of her group and Consultant, Tracie, and midweek support too, such as the group's closed Facebook group and the Slimming World website ( free to members in group ) Liz felt happier, healthier, was sleeping better and had more energy. So much so, that she completed the Weldmar Jurassic Coast 13 mile challenge in May this year and has sold her car so she walks everywhere now!
Liz was such an inspiring member in group that she was voted the group Woman of the Year 2019 and attended the Regional Finals in Somerset where she was one of just 60 inspiring ladies in the whole of the South West. Liz defied the odds of even getting to group at the latter end of her weight loss journey as her husband, Gary, became seriously ill with sepsis and was hospitalised. Gary encouraged her to attend the Regional Finals, so her daughter looked after Gary at home, where he needs caring for, whilst awaiting a liver transplant.
Liz did amazingly well at the Regionals, bravely sharing her story with a group of other ladies, and although she didn't go on to the National Finals at Slimming World's Head Office in Derbyshire, she has achieved such a lot in reaching her target weight and 5 stone weight loss. Liz says " I am so much happier and healthier and now I am at target I plan to continue attending my group ( free of charge for target members ) and use my Slimming World Target Journal to help me stay in control and maintain my weight loss long term."
