CONVINCING WINS FOR TRAINSHARP DUO IN EAST SUSSEX CA 50

trainSharp duo Howard Shaw and Sally Turner were fastest male and female riders respectively at the East Sussex CA 50-mile time trial near East Hoathly on Sunday.
... Shaw, 33 and from Eastbourne clocked 1-48-28 for the G50/90 course to take the win by exactly one and a half minutes, while Lewes Wanderers’ Nick Dwyer was second and Marc Townsend (Eastbourne Rovers - also coached by trainSharp) was third.
And in the women’s event, Sally Turner (trainSharp) covered the distance in 2-03-23 to take victory by almost five minutes from team-mate Lisa Davis.

Following on from his first win in France last week, trainSharp coached Jamie Wilkins placed 2nd on Thursday and took another win on Saturday!
Some words from Jamie
"Yesterday was the Boucle des Coteaux du Comminges road race in Haute-Garonne, on a very lumpy course. It was a fierce race with lots of attacking but I felt good throughout and was strong on the climbs.
... Four of us contested the finish which was a technical uphill sprint with two fairly tight corners. I attacked into it and won by a few bike lengths.
Super happy! I'm loving racing in France!

Yesterday was my first race in France - and I won!
I attacked near the top of a 5min climb on the penultimate lap and came home a minute clear. Our club also won the cat 1 race and the team prize, so it was a great day all round.
To do this just three months back into training, having started at zero, is a massive testament to trainSharp. The rate at which my fitness has returned has been amazing and I'm really excited for what's ahead.

"After a consistent run of good results and strong performances on the road and handicaps finally made it to the top spot at Dunsfold on Wednesday evening. after getting in the break on lap 3 setting new 20,30 and 40min Watt PB's still managed to pull away with 2k's to go with a short hard effort then maintain it to the line holding off the only other rider able to come with me"

trainSharp coached Sarah Fiona Matthews wins her age group for the third year running at the Tour of Cambridgeshire (UCI Qualifier for World Champs).
Some words from Sarah:
"Although my power wasn’t the best (due to the heat) it was one of the hardest races I’ve ever done. One of my main contenders started 20 secs ahead and catching her around 5 miles was a real boost it meant I had a constant threat somewhere behind me so didn’t dare ease up for a second.
... The headwind and undulations around 9-10 miles were harsh and I nearly ended up on the verge trying to keep my speed on the last right hand turn.
Chris’ pushing and pulling sessions have given me the determination and toughness I needed to keep it going to the line. I was breathing so hard and felt so hot I just rolled off the bike onto the floor and was vaguely aware of my husband rushing towards me with phone at the ready.
I’d no idea where I’d come but remember muttering that if that effort hadn’t got me a podium I was giving up cycling and taking up knitting!
Really thrilled to win my age group for the 3rd year running …. and very relieved not to be taking up knitting!"
