Had a couple of hours this evening to finish up the internals on this fun little side project (my down time!).
It's one of those all grey garden ornaments that I cut the head off and added some whiz-bang to. He's got a Passive Infra Red sensor in the base to pick up movement and kick off the "scan" with an ultra bright LED and mutable sounds. The original thinking was to make a cat scarer to keep them out of the garden, but I don't think he's an all weather kind of guy now!
...I'll set him aside until I get time to do a final paint (maybe while watching G.O.T tomorrow night).
Additional photos in the comments.

A short video showing progress with the ongoing Dredd 2012 Lawgiver project that myself and Steve Robb are working on. His progress with the prop itself is amazing.
Here's a new display (high res and perfectly sized) and a demo of the kits full function. I have kept true to the film but also added some extra stages, or rounds, as there are several key frames missing from the movie that would demonstrate these. Namely the regular rounds and how some of the selectors would work.... This is of course an educated guess but we're happy with the result.
If there is enough interest I may look at releasing this as a drop in kit, it should fit most LG props out there (subject to confirmation).
More to follow.

Thanks for the great review Ace ;)
Just a few points to clarify from the video for yourself and any viewers:
* The "trooper" profiles all share common phrases, main reason being that the individual characters in the movies have very little to say, there are 70 phrases loaded in.... * Each unit comes with 15 pre-loaded profiles (as you've shown), but there are currently over 50 profiles available from all kinds of movies/TV genres (including Aliens, Transformers etc). You can also edit any profile to work as you wish, or create your own from scratch. *The Vader has over 35 individual phrases that are grouped into positive or negative style responses, on buttons A or B respectively. * Short sentences with a brief pause work better for the static bursts. * You can edit/change any of the background loops, indeed some profiles already have a few to choose from like Boba, Death Trooper, and Predator for example (btw, Long Tall Sally was playing in the chopper scene of the movie so it's a reference to that ;) ). * It's not actually an Aker, it's one I worked with the manufacturer to modify/alter the audio quality slightly for troopers (as this was the original single use for the unit). * The main (over all) volume is controlled by the thumb wheel, but you can also adjust the effects (voice clips) or loop volumes via the settings in the unit.
Other than that, great job! I'm glad you like the unit and look forward to your BlastFX review.

Recently finished these panel electronics (lights / sound) for Lee Harvey to use on his stunning full scale Han in Carbonite build.
Fantastic job bud, and I'm now quite jealous!

BlastFX V3 is here!
NOTE: I will be updating this video soon as I've added a little more since release of V3, and I also didn't show the whole system here...
You can now create and add your own custom profiles to the system, meaning it can be used for any weapon you choose, you're no longer limited to what comes in the box. You can set the individual fire mode colours, what displays you want, and various other options which are configurable via a main system config file and p...rofile config files.
Updates from V2: * Custom profiles * Overhauled audio system and all audio files * Overheat function * Scope display updated with more functionality * No more 'glitchy' main display
IMPORTANT: All existing BlastFX orders will be V3.
Edit: Stupid Facebook compressed the video, apologies for the quality!

RoboCase v2 testing...
Still waiting on parts for various orders to arrive so have been able to do some work on the drvable case. She's a beast and can easily carry me and all my kit.
The box is bolted to a sub frame with the batteries/electronics inside. However, I would ike to make the whole thing in one chassis that any box could be bolted to.
... Still some work to do and kinks to iron out, and I also plan to put a hook on the back for towing!

Just finished for a client, this was a £14.99 off the shelf toy from Ebay that had some standard flashy lights going on and crappy sound, so I've stripped it all out and replaced with custom electronics.
Features:
Very loud sounds due to two speakers (one in body, one in extension).... Ultra bright 10mm barrel LED. Ultra bright 10mm grenade LED. Single or rapid fire (short press or hold the trigger). Working grenade launcher with rack and fire. Added lots of weights so it feel great in hand. Solenoid that smacks against the housing and the metal weights to give the recoil feel and metalic "ching" sound to mimic the chamber action. Working powerful side torch with red dot laser. Built in rechargeable (via USB cable) 3.7v 18650 battery.
I'm super pleased with how this turned out, I just wish the video picked up how it feels when held and fired!
I was hoping to have the working selector switch for Semi/Full Auto but the way the shell was made meant I couldn't construct it properly.
Some final paint and detailing to go then off to client.
I'll add some pictures of the internals in the comments below.

Transparent OLED screens (128 x 64) ... if only it could fit inside a scope!
It's monochrome too which is a shame, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it.

I get asked many times what's involved in the process of installing BlastFX into the SDS E-11, so I thought I would take a time lapse video of a customers build to show the proceedure. This is almost 13 hours condensed to just over 20 minutes. There are a couple of stages left out but these are just the painting and finishing so you're not missing much, even though this is another hour or so in time. As you can see there is a LOT involved but it's essentially done in stages:
...1. CAREFULLY strip the base model. This isn't easy as SDS use a lot of hard glue, so you need to be gentle enough not to break anything, but firm enough to crack the glue seals. 2. Prep the base model. I use various rotary tools to drill, cut or grind away and shape as required. Also at this stage I have to make a new functioning trigger and install into the trigger housing. 3. Wire up and install the displays, trigger switch, mode button, LED strip/end LED. Reassemble the scope, counter and various other pieces. 4. Wire up the main board, install battery, charger board, power switch, speaker (and housing tube). Reassemble the rest of the weapon, glue and paint.
All of these steps need to be done with care, as it's easy to make a mistake but not easy to fix once parts are installed.
I hope if you take the time to watch this you'll get an understanding of the work involved and why they take so long to do.
If you wish to have one for yourself they are available in the shop section and tagged above.

Thanks to Lee Mason for sharing this video of him using the Bane profile on TRamp, sounds great bud!
Lee is using the remote finger button version to great effect in this video, especially notable is the head action when mimicking the speach to really sell it.

Eelco of 3D-Props is raising the bar yet again. I can vouch for the quality of his work and have no reservations in recommending him.

This is genius and could be useful for all sorts of props...
