User

Great food and excellent service. Told them it was our anniversary & they brought out a complimentary chocolate cake with happy anniversary written on the plate and a candle! Lovely little touch. Would defo recommend :)

User

Great atmosphere and simple plan, executed nicely.

Friendly staff too.

The Hix signature chicken and chips good as always and the Porterhouse was the most tender I've ever eaten.

And great touch with the birthday cake; much appreciated!

User

Food is great, beer is great and staff are fantastic.....oh, oh!!! b4 i 4got also best male toilet.

User

Excellent food. The steak was done to perfection and the onion rings are delish as as the salad. Just ask my food baby 😬 Oh and the service was tops. Great setting for a cool night out.

User

Cracking rib eye and beautiful Argentinian Malbec. Nice and relaxed at lunch time but not cheap. This is central London though, so not surprising really. Would return!

User

An imaginative aspect of a cooked chicken with stuffing. The Yorkshire pudding with a chicken liver patè is just divine. Well worth visiting.

User

Steak was amazing, service was good, the only thing that let me down was how squashed our table was. The waiter serving the table next to us was nearly on top of us, other than that, will definately be returning!

User

Reliably excellent Yorkshire pudding and whipped chicken livers! Similarly excellent whole chicken, the carcass from which has made a simmeringly delicious stock at home. My one criticism is the salad. This used to be much better when it was hearts of romaine with Tewkesbury mustard dressing. Oh, and the four of us shared the caramel fondue! An elegant sufficiency.

User

We had a super roast but it quickly cooled as the plates were not hot. This meant that we missed out on eating a significant amount of our Yorkshire pud and greens. We did share this with management and our bill was reduced slightly.

Also felt that the cloakroom facilities were looking very tired. Hand drier didn’t work.

User

I've been meaning to visit here for ages due to feedback from other people. The restaurant is lovely and modern, the children were kept busy with the colouring in and sheet on offer and the staff were friendly.

I booked it for Father's Day lunch as my hubby loves meat. He enjoyed his steak and chips which he said was seasoned really well but the burger and chips was just ok. For the price we paid I don't think it's value for money in terms of portion sizes. I doubt I'll go back again but it was nice to experience it to know it's not for me. You basically pay for the name and area!

User

I thought the food was amesome. The waiters and waitresses serving were great and attentive. However the hostess sitting us at the table had a really bad attitude, and made the whole group feel very unwelcomed.

User

Great venue, ok service, party of 9 who all got what they ordered, however, although the food was ok it wasn't anything to make a sing and dance about, my one piece of advice would be to ditch those awful cheap fries.

User

Food was average and slightly overpriced. Had a great waitress however at some point, what we assumed the floor manager, too over and ruined our experience by not only telling us that we can't have deserts - next booking for our table was only half an hour later- but also by trying to overcharge us by £100 on the final bill.

User

Booked a table for 10pm and got seated eventually at 10.20 (not great). Food then took till 11pm to come and was decent but nothing to right home about. Reasonable price for the chicken but steaks very pricy. Won't rush back. Can get better service and better food elsewhere for cheaper.

User

Attended the Tramshed for my brothers pre wedding meal. I arrived first and was welcomed by very polite receptionist. I was half an hour early so was offered to sit in the bar longe area. When I was shown over this area, it was a few tables under the industrial type staircase, the lighting was really dark under there and it was like I was being hidden away. A waitress came over and gave me a drinks menu and brought over some water. I ordered a drink that came in a timely mannner by a different waitress. One of my brothers arrrived shortly after I had got my drink and he wanted to order a drink, we had to wait until alll the guest had arrived before someone came over to take our order and seemed oblivious to the fact that there was another drinks menu that I was shown earlier. Not everyone is in to craft beers so they should have more selection of lagers, and pilsners etc.

We did wait along time for food and were anxious as we were told when booking that they were two hour slots, and we finally got our food an hour and half later. The waiting staff seemed to have just have oweiods of not being available a lot of the time, and asking suggestions they just recommended the most expensive items, even though everything was priced above average.the food was pretty much faultless so it saved the evening. I love the surroundings but had more of an afternoon lunchtime atmosphere when, especially being in Hoxton, you would expect a different kind of buzz. I would go again for the food and hopefully my initial commmets turn out to be a one off.

User

Lovely setting & decor. Trendy, clean & busy set up. Booked in for a birthday celebration for my brother.

Customer service was poor & not to standard for the prices you pay & in comparison to other steakhouses in the area, such as Hoxton grill. We are a very laid back group as we all work in 5* establishments & 2 members of the party being chefs in high end restaurants themselves. We know how it works & don't like to complain or make a fuss, however on this occasion the service charge paid was not justified or reflection on service received.

Drinks order came after our starters, steaks weren't cooked as ordered & most areas lacked flavouring. There was no check backs on any courses, front of house staff didn't seem engaged or organised.

All in all we found it a disappointing experience & we are very unlikely to return.

User

Large group of 12. Service was perfunctory at best. 'Sharing starters' are very average, small and devoid of any real culinary talent, flair or presentation. Most had roast chicken - fiddly presentation and expensive. My mum (who can't cook for toffee) can produce better - this is not Masterchef territory..! On the plus side...the venue is pretty impressive and the 'art' works interesting. Rather than spend your hard earned cash here why not try the German Gymnasium - pricier but a class above in every department..!!

User

Terrible service & grisly fatty steaks!! I won't be returning! Disappointed to say the least!

User

Seated at 3pm for a late Mother's Day lunch. Starter arrived 40 minutes later stone cold. I raised a complaint but at that point no offer to change it, but I was famished and ate it. Main course, well let's say that it was closer to dinner by the time that arrived. Service fell apart on a day when you'd expect service excellence and being staffed to cope with a higher than average footfall. Anyway, our table was booked so it's not as if they had to cope with unexpected demand. After another complaint (or two), the mangeress did finally address our issues. Their saving grace was to waive the food bill, but even then, we won't be going back. There are so many other lovely restaurants in the area that we won't miss this one. Such a shame as we did travel to spend a day in the area not just one location!
