"(...)Translation is only the shimmering of the text in a mirror: the mirror becomes tarnished, the writing appears as what it is after a few decades: writing by proxy; it is not the object itself but an image of the object, probably also much more the portrait of the translator and its time than he or she would like to admit."
Interesting...
They definitely should have hired a translator!
"Language is a tool. It can make our worlds bigger or make them smaller. It can be used to create connection or to cause harm. It can affirm or it can disparage."
Now that would be an interesting translation 😁
Of course in French the 'r' is not formed with the tongue reaching towards the alveolar ridge but in the throat (where the uvula is). And it's just one example of how different functions are required in different languages, which is one of the reasons why learning to speak a foreign language is so difficult!
To degust is still used in French: déguster. From the Latin de- of and gustare taste!
On the importance of writing conventions 😂
This bilingual super smart woman is most definitely the place to be if you need any translation help in any field at all - she can do it and do it so well! Look no further!
