It all started one sunny Saturday afternoon in a stone factory based in Turin. Where they produced what we in the trade refer to as lightweight thin stone often backed with other composite panels. However this time they had laminated thin stone to glass and with the sunlight streaming through 'Sheerstone' was born and we have literally supplied hundreds of projects with various stones from around the World. Moving on we have introduced other materials for a variey of reasons and found ourselves involved with LED lighting too. We are constantly looking for something new to bring to the market to excite and dazzle. So take a lok around at what we do and things we get involved with. There's never a dull moment.

Oooops forgot to mention the project in Los Angeles!
What a great start to the year. Recently returned from a fantastic winters break in Thailand and have been in Spain early this week with a planned business trip to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem later this month then off to China for a week in March. Projects currently in Singapore, Jordan & Italy so 2016 has started with an almighty bang!
Just about to ship our first New York project. I still get so excited when a project reaches this stage.
Probably the largest backlit book matched onyx project in the World.
Two book-matched Sheerstone onyx panels being installed within a shower enclosure in central London for a private client. All backlit with a warm white waterproof LED system. Work in progress.
I think that our client located in Rhode Island USA was pleased with the LED units we supplied for her stained glass windows judging from this:

A work of art and bespoke in every manner possible this bath tub has been constructed from thousands of hand-set rose Quartz semi-precious stones. With such a high priced ticket item we do not expect such a masterpiece to be available at your local bath store very soon.
Just putting together some translucent onyx with LED lighting, which will be featured at Grand Designs at the Excel in London from May 2nd to the 10th.
We have successfully used 'Ladderlites' on a number of installations providing reliable and even distribution of light for our translucent materials. Essentially they are LED's on a roll so they can be installed quickly and are dimmable as standard. The diodes are the lens type and we have tested them at 65mm without showing hot spots but of course it does depend on the material to be backlit. To coincide with the relaunch of www.lightweightstone.co.uk we have this morning received our sixth cruise ship enquiry in under two weeks.
Wooden veneers sandwiched between PETG offers a class A fire rated material that can be cut into any shape and/or design and can be curved too. Extremely lightweight and ultra thin with of course Translucency as standard. Afterall this is what we do.
How different lighting techniques can dramatically change the appearance of a material. The one on the left uses our Edge2Edge acrylic and on the right uses Maxlite our thin profile ultra bright LED panel.

This was the only picture that I could find following our latest installation at Pomodoro's in Minsk. Our contribution was the backlit bar which you can just about make out but I understand if you guys would just prefer to stare at the main attraction.
