What a lovely place! Food was to die for a must go to place! Defo go back! From burton on Trent

We were told that it would be a boring Sunday roast. OMG how wrong can you be it was superb the food was to die for and I was glad I was hungry there was so much and piping hot and had obviously been made fresh. Yummy just sorry we don't live closer as we would come more often. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. PS it was very reasonably priced as well

We stoped off unexpectantly for a drink and some food. Hands down the best food I have had in a long time. Absolutely delicious and we will be back 😊

We have an elderly relative lives Holmfirth and whenever we are over from Lancashire to see him, we ALWAYS eat here.... cant recommend it high enough, wonderful food and attentive and friendly staff. The steak and ale pie plus lasagne where our favourites yesterday when 4 families met up and the bill was marginally over £200 for 11 people, main course and sweet plus a couple of drinks for all.... stupendous!!!

Visited today just on the off chance as we were passing through holmefirth. What a little gem, the meal was absolutely gorgeous will definitely be returning

Sunday roast was excellent as are other food from their menu. Never had a bad meal and staff are so pleasant.

I took my mum and dad out for a meal tonight and we really enjoyed it,the starters was really nice and the main course was excellent..The lady behind the bar was friendly and made us feel comfortable,Also the customer service was great as well..I would highly recommend the travellers rest to anybody,thank you for a great night!.

Food is home made, and delicious. Staff are always polite, friendly and welcoming. It's one of the best pubs around for food and we will definitely keep going back

Called here totally unplanned. Sunday lunch time and they had a spare table. The staff were so friendly and thorough. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait too long for it either. Lovely veg, not overcooked and my pie was lovely.

Another great meal - fab food and fab portions! Sirloin steak great, fish and chips humongous and the steak and ale pie had the best taste and pastry!

took dad for lunch a couple of weeks ago.....we both had pork fillet and my son had beef pie.......absolutely yummy.........will definitely be returning when I get chance :)
