If you've never been to Skala before you'll never understand why women rave about it so much. Europe's only lesbian holiday resort, this little village with its beautiful beach and picturesque valley is the perfect holiday location. This unspoilt corner of Greece has a lot to offer and thanks to its location it hasn't been destroyed by an invasion of neon lights and big hotels. Surrounded by a beautiful valley and volcanic hills the village is set at one end of the beach and the bars and restaurants have terraces set over the waters edge, perfect for chilling out.
Warmly welcomed by the locals, women have been coming on holiday here since the 70's and have slowly established a lively and ever growing women's scene. There are now 4 women's bars including a theatre bar and 2 women's restaurants as well as 3 women only accommodation options. There is a 3 km long south facing beach, perfect for the sun worshippers amongst you, with a women's and nudist section. Its a great place to holiday whether you come with a partner or alone. Its easy to make friends and there are plenty of activities and events you can join in with. Whether its volleyball on the women's beach or joining in on cabaret night there are many ways to meet other women.
Most importantly this is a place where you are free to be yourself, don't have to be afraid and can openly walk around hand in hand with your friends or girlfriend without fear. The exhilaration that comes with such freedom to be yourself is the reason why Skala Eressos is so special and unique and why women return year after year.
