We've bought three fans in the past three days. When you come into the shop, there's a gentle whirring sound and your hair wafts gentl like you're in a photo shoot. #heatwave

What can you say about a shop that feels like your front room with a few exra shelves and a centre of esoteric history, craft and culture in the basement. They will probably have what you need but they will definitely have what you want. The staff are all ex-lovers, best friends and family from your dreams or previous lives who make you feel very at home. Certainly my favourite bookshop in London.

We used the room downstairs for an event on Saturday and everything was fantastic. Very friendly staff and owners, a great atmosphere and an all-round success. Thank you so much for having us, we will be back for more Secret Seminars in the future. Harriet @ eliteeducationgroup

Treadwell's Books is my spiritual home, a place by virtue of which I connected with a global community of fellow-minded scholars all around the world. Much has been said about its unique atmosphere, its treasure trove of rare books, but it is important to underline also the varied events programme and the commitment of every team member to making this a truly great institution in a world of information overload.

Today I received a beautiful book (The Tree Ogham by Glennie Kindred) carefully packed and lovely wrapped in silk paper with a personal message on high-quality card stock. Only true book lovers handle their goods like this! ♥︎ I'm so delighted! Thank you very much ♥︎

I would love to visit your bookstore, when I happen to be in London the next time!

This was my first visit to Treadwell's Books and it was so nice to see so many books related to Pagan and energy work. The atmosphere was positive and the staff are friendly also helpful. So nice to be in a place with knowledgeable staff. I will definitely comeback.

There are books that my grandmother own whom she used to say she will gave to me when I am old enough but were lost when we moved to another house. Who would have thought that 30 yrs after I will find it in another continent on the top most shelf of Treadwell's. And yes their incense collection is just divine. Keep going!!!

User

The best esoteric bookstore to be found anywhere. Everyone is knowledgeable, welcoming and helpful. The events are amazing and the community around Treadwells is outstanding. The team here just keeps giving and doesn't disappoint.

So I visited this shop yesterday during my trip to London. I have been interested in Wicca and paganism since I was in school and my spiritual journey has been stop and start for various reasons so I still feel like a newcomer and was extremely nervous coming in. This shop was absolutely amazing!! It had such an interesting atmosphere even though I was nervous I felt at ease and what was the best was the customer service! The lovely lady who served me was kind, helpful and engaging making excellent recommendations. When they talked about all the workshops etc that they do I felt so envious that I don't have as large of a pagan community where I am from because I think a strong network or 'circle' lol is what would be so beneficial for growing within the path. To end I give this place 10 stars and cannot wait to return soon!

User

Shopped online, very fast delivery and thank you for the beautiful incense included in the package! Will definitely shop with you again.

User

One of my favorite shops in London. The staff is not just staff but passionate and with knowledge. They can tell you something about every single book they have. Love it.

My favourite bookstore in the world!

Treadwell's is part of London's unique history and houses a fabulous range of Esoteric literature. The shelves of this beautiful store host everything you could wish for from Witchcraft and Druidry to Shamanism and Heathenism, from Tarot and Astrology to Ancient Beliefs and Folklore, Hutton and Valiente to Murray and Farrar, and so much more. You can easily spend a blissful afternoon browsing through the shelves, you can even relax in the seating area if you want to read a little.

The store also boasts a wonderful "Rare Collection" section with many unique finds for the real collector. Dotted around the bookshelves are many other treats, such as jewellery, magical objects, tarot decks and supplies, such as herbs, candles and incense.

Tarot readings are available from one of the resident practitioners. If Tarot is something that interests you, there are regular courses and workshops hosted at Treadwell's, along with books and decks in the store.

Treadwell's is more than just a bookstore. It's a community, a friendly and welcoming team who make you feel part of the family. Treadwell's is an prominent part of Esoteric London.

Christina and the team all have a love of magic and spirituality. They run regular events, workshops, lectures and course on all aspects of Paganism. Prominent members of the global community often host evening and weekend lectures to share their knowledge and expertise. You can even attend book launches or meet well-known authors at their events.

Monthly pagan circles are very popular, as well as my favourite year-round workshops to celebrate the Wheel of the Year, hosted by the fabulous Suzanne Corbie.

Whether you're a lifelong pagan or new to the community, go and visit Treadwell's - I guarantee you that your first visit will not be your last!

I purposely organised a weekend trip to London so I could visit Treadwell's. I have always had a keen interest in the subjects they cover and as a History & religion student too, I found my place to be. You can snoop around the whole store without being looked at or followed weirdly, but at the same time if you require assistance, they will provide the best support! Since I came from far, I kinda had a list of books I was looking for and the lady, probably the owner? did her best to provide everything including some other treasures I had no idea existed. I made a huge purchase and was so fascinated that I visited the store again after a few hours making yet more purchases. I couldn't take them all in my luggage so they have taken care of the shipping aswell. Wonderfully packed and fast. I tell you, if you plan to go to this store, and you're as crazy as I am just make sure you can spend a lot of money cuz you won't feel like leaving anything behind hehehe. I am just sad, I don't live there or I'd definitely try to make friends with the owner and staff because they know all about what I usually wanna talk about! Ahhh :D Samantha, from Luxembourg ( came with my boyfriend who wanted to go to forbidden planet)

User

I ordered online and it arrived beautifully packaged. I will definitely order again and hope to visit the shop one day. Many thanks Treadwell's! :-D

I live in New York City and I visit Treadwells every time I am in London. I spend the rest of the year drooling over the fantastic list of events, lectures, and workshops that they host. The staff is always kind and knowledgeable and the books highly curated. It caters to the curious as well as to the serious scholars. There is nothing that comes anywhere close in NYC.

User

I found a home away from home at Treadwell’s while traveling an ocean away from home. Expert advice from Dr. Christina Oakley Harrington and her knowledgeable staff directed me to fruitful browsing and the conversation was fantastic. Treadwell’s is worth traveling a few thousand miles for all by itself!

User

Have been for a few talks and to purchase books. Love it Christina and the staff are super friendly Always have time to chat and are so knowledgeable on many subjects. And a chance to snuggle with Rambo is always a bonus xx

User

Great book selection. They also have their own apothecary and candles and incenses. The staff is friendly and helpful. A memorably positive experience overall. Don't skip it if you're in London and have an interest in esoteric/occult/pagan studies.

User

Glad I popped in today, it's been years since my last visit and there were so many interesting titles... I wish I'd had more time.
