What a fabulous restaurant. I visited Whitby on holiday today and had the most amazing fish pie I have ever eaten. The staff are amazingly friendly and the service was impeccable. If I could fly up from Somerset each week I would just to come up to eat here. Thank you

User

We were visiting for the day. Looking for a good fish and chip amongst the many on offer we decided to visit Trenchers. What a great choice this turned out to be. We were greeted and served by friendly staff. The food was perfect and we rated it as the best we have had for a long while. I note that some reviewers thought it was a bit pricey but we did not think so.

We went to Trenchers today the service was amazing.

I’ve had weight loss surgery so can’t eat a full meal. I asked if it was possible for a kids meal. Many restaurants won’t allow this but these were more than happy to oblige. Hats off to them.

User

Visited with family for my birthday and everything was 5* great food and great service . I will definitely be back .

User

Trenches is one of the best fish chip restaurants I've ever been to. The staff are really friendly & helpful & the food is superb well worth a visit x

User

The seafood was amazing. The staff were very friendly. We had to wait for a while for our table. But it was well worth it.

User

So glad we waited, people were queuing out of the door, but well worth the wait. Staff were super friendly and very efficient, and even though the restaurant was rammed at no time did we feel rushed. My husband and I ordered the regular cod and chips and it was huge, don’t see how anyone can complain about portion size. Definitely worth the money

User

Quality restaurant, lovely decor, great food, tasty fish & chips, good choices for kids and amazing crab salad.

User

My daughter and I arrived at Whitby very hungry, we happened upon Trenchers, it was exceedingly busy, but we waited, we were soon allocated seats, our orders were taken, the food arrived it was delicious, one thing that stood out for me was the extreme friendliness of the staff despite the restaurant being rammed to the rafters with customers, there was no panic by the staff and we as customers were allowed time to study the menu and not rushed to eat our meal. Well done Trenchers, I was impressed with your happy smiling staff.

User

Just finished our fish & chip tea. We had the haddock. You can have the skin taken off if you want (big bonus for me). I can honestly say that as far back as I can remember in my 61yrs I have not tasted better fish & chips x

User

I would definitely recommend a visit to trenchers you won't be disappointed great atmosphere really good menus and really good service the price range is acceptable too we enjoyed it and hopefully you will too don't pass by drop in to a good welcome and delicious meal,

User

Fantastic restaurant. Wonderful food. Karen our waitress was fabulous and so helpful, her recommendations were spot on. The best seafood meal I’ve had in ages.

User

Fantastic freshly caught cod and homemade chips with tartare sauce and mushy peas. Can it get any better.

The staff are brilliant and you don’t have to wait long for your food and the price you pay is very reasonable for the quality of food being served.

User

Fabulous food and fabulous service! Loved the fish and chips. My daughter loved the poached salmon too. Excellent value kids meal for my youngest. Despite being full we had to sample the desserts. Recommend the chocolate cheesecake. Will be back!

User

Been to Whitby several times but this is the first time we’ve eaten at Trenchers. We were told it was pricey so never went but that’s not the case! First night the fish and chips were great the second night I had fish pie my husband had lasagne quite good but there was a distinct lack of prawns in my pie and way too much salmon! I also had to ask for more sauce as it was quite dry. Good effort though and the lemon posset was very nice. Staff very friendly and attentive well worth a visit! We’re definitely returning 👍🏼

User

Beautiful white succulent fish, tasty chips , not a bit greasy. Salmon so moist it melted in your mouth, deserts delicious too. What more could you ask for. Cost not over the top at all. Well worth it. Can’t wait to try again.

User

We’ve been wanting to go gear for a few weeks after planning for our holiday visit... we visited yesterday and if I’m being completely honest felt let down!!. I ordered the large fish with chips and my wife ordered regular

Service was fine but when my order arrived I was a bit shocked at how small my plate was, yes of coarse the fish was large but left absolutely no room for my chips!! There wer hardly any on my plate! I would have thought that as I had ordered large fish and chips at the cost of 16 pounds almost I would get a few more chips!!! We have ate at other fish restaurants there and I’ve had plenty of chips from them!! So why not hear?.

Don’t think I will be visiting again, sorry!!

User

The cod was one of the best I have ever tasted although the amount of chips were very sparse for the price. If you're going to make people wait outside then please make it worth while as chips cost pence to make!
