If you run out of prescription medicine this Easter and don't have a prescription with you, you should be able to get an emergency supply from your local pharmacy. It's a good idea to take an old prescription or the medicine's packaging with you, if you have it. You'll be interviewed by the pharmacist to find out: if you need the medicine immediately who previously prescribed the medicine (to make sure ... they're a trusted source) what dose of the medicine would be appropriate for you to take The pharmacist will need to know the answers to all of these questions before they can supply a prescription-only medicine without a prescription in an emergency. If the pharmacist isn't satisfied that the medicine and dose is appropriate for you, they may not supply the medicine. You may need to pay for this service and your medicine, even if you don't normally, because they're being provided without a prescription. https://beta.nhs.uk/find-a-pharmacy/

We are delighted to report that we have achieved 100% in our annual health management programme (QOF). ☺️ We are one of only 12% of GP practices that have achieved this nationally and we are very proud of our whole team for their hard work and dedication towards patient care that has made this possible.

Have you ever wondered why we ask for 72 hours notice for your prescription request? Please take a moment to review this attached photo. These are the checks that the pharmacy must do before dispensing your medication. We have many of our own to do before your prescription even gets to your chosen pharmacy. As you will see, we ask for the time for your safety. This is why we will only process medication that is genuinely ‘urgent’ more quickly. This would be for medication that puts a patient at clinical risk if not taken, such as medication for Parkinson’s, Diabetes, Asthma inhalers etc. Our Reception Team will do their best to advise you, but must follow the protocol designed by the doctors. Please do take a moment to think and read the attached. Thank you very much 😀

NEW YEARS ACT OF VANDALISM
Unfortunately on New Years Eve, a gang of youths were seen carrying out several acts of vandalism along Trescobeas and Tregenver Roads. As part of this they tried to break into the Surgery, smashing the glass front entrance door and setting off the alarms. We have CCTV and will be passing on the evidence to the local Police. Unfortunately the repairs will incur a cost that will have to be borne by the Surgery (NHS). At a time when NHS resources are stretched to breaking point this sort of unnecessary expense ultimately reduces our ability to put on front line Doctor and Nurse clinics to our patients.
