You might think this is just a photo of some potatoes.....and you’d be right. However this is a very emotional potato moment for me. If you’ve ever been on a date with me, you’ll know, potato variety talk is my go to when the conversation gets awkward...just to make it even more awkward.
Over the years I’ve tested countless varieties of potatoes to try and make the perfect triple cooked French fry. Of all of them, this variety “Sagita” came out top. It’s only around for a few... months a year and I’ve just snagged some of the first from the new harvest.
Expect my already high French fry game to increase further as of next week.

I’ve ditched the plastic bottled water and replaced it with these AQUAPAX in majority paperboard cartons from sustainably sourced trees. 100% recyclable.
They are a little pricier so will now be the same cost as the canned soft drinks at £1.50.
However, free drinking water is available from a tap under the giant traffic light in the corner and you can buy refillable water bottles from HISBE Food

New BBQ sauce incoming!
Finally found a use for all those blackcurrants I chucked in the freezer. They’re going to be juiced and added to Rock Farm tomatoes, whiskey, lemon juice and spices to make a new BBQ sauce to go with duck!

The Smokin’ Swine £9.
So I ran out of Drunken Reapers so decided to quickly slap this sexy little number on the menu. It’s a classic smokey bacon number with a beef patty, smoked cheese, smoked bacon and smoked garlic mayo.
It’s pretty fucking good and I’m tempted to make it a semi permanent feature.

But I wanted to share this actually informative article about “gluten intolerance”.
It’s verifies what I’ve always preached, that it’s not gluten per se, but the type of wheat, high amounts of yeast, factory processing and other artificial additives that are likely the problem.
... If you think you’re suffering from gluten intolerance it might be worth giving our baker Flint Owl Bakery a try. You can buy their sourdoughs from HISBE Food which are baked using traditional methods, with no weird ingredients and very little sugar or yeast!
