Great trip. We spent about an hour. Not always easy to get round when it's busy, so for maximum enjoyment go when it's quiet.

Lots of butterflies but also good place to see reptiles, birds, frogs, meercats.

Our favourite part was the nocturnal area which is understandably dimmed for the comfort and better daytime viewing of the animals with bats, nocturnal marsupials and different rodents.

Most had information boards to tell you about the creatures, including the free flying ones. However some of the boards definitely didn't match up to what was in the tanks at the time which was a shame.

Very warm and humid- if your planning a trip in winter wear layers so you can take some off.

Many people going around with pushchairs and wheelchairs and there were toilets half way around.

Not a full days activities - we walked around in less than an hour with plenty of dawdling to look at things but combined with a visit to the gardens, park or pub opposite and it makes a great day out :) Well worth the £6 entry.

We went here with our cousins and their kids so all in all we had four kids under 4 with us, including one infant. The facilities are great and clean so no worries about having to feed babies and change diapers, there are spaces for those things.

The place itself was well laid out and a complete immersion into a tropical atmosphere. It is very hot so be prepared to sweat and have extra clothes for the kids when they get hot and sweaty.

There was plenty to see and learn. The kids loved being able to experience things up close and to have a great view of all the animals, especially the birds and meercats! The meercat habitat is great, you get a chance to see them interacting with each other and they are quite entertaining. The butterflies and birds fly free so if you take a little extra time you can encounter some really beautiful and unique ones.

It was a great and memorable experience for our entire family.

Fantastic, best bet is going during the quite periods. Not an awful lot to see but surroundings are wonderful. The cafe is reasonably priced and decent quality as well.
We would recommend combining a visit to the specialist gardens next door and a walk round Waterloo lake in the park, all told makes for a nice relaxing day out.

Vast improvement over the Tropical World I visited a few years ago, the refurbishment has transformed the place and made it feel like the Aztec Zone on Crystal Maze with added plants and animals. It's no longer a gift shop with a naff attraction, it's a cohesive venue from entry to the cafe.

It's still a fairly compact attraction but this is reflected in the low prices. I did note that they managed to process 3 families at the till in the time it took to do our prepaid tickets though so it wasn't exactly a time saver.

If you've been before and been disappointed give it another chance.

Tropical world is a must go if you live in Leeds. Great with the kids. The huge butterflies were very impressive. Around are nice gardens also worth visiting.

Brilliant on a cold rainy day. Recreation of tropical environments, filled with various wild mammals, snakes, insects and birds. It's better than you might suspect from the exterior and seemingly bigger on the inside and out. Great for kids, but lots of fun for adults too.

Great place to take the kids. Not long since the renovation and now has an updated larger cafe (food is reasonable). The shop is also is reasonable with a large selection. Although tropical world is not the largest it certainly packs a fair bit in. The mere cats, fish and butterflies are all a firm favourite with my kids.

Myself (25) and my boyfriend (28) came to Tropical World as an afternoon weekend outing. He wasn't very excited about it but I definitely was as I'd always wanted to come after hearing good reviews.

This place is like a tardis, it doesn't look much from the outside but the inside is just bursting with animals. We absolutely loved it from start to finish.

We will most definitely be visiting again, probably on a rainy day as it's all indoors.
