Tropical World Leeds Description
Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of West Yorkshireβs most popular family attractions. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the habitats of the tropics and other hot places from around the world whilst only venturing as far as Leeds! The attraction includes jungle, desert, nocturnal and aquatic habitats with plants and animals such as crocodiles, butterflies, bats, snakes and a gorgeous family of meerkats! Cold drinks and ice lollies are available to buy if you need to cool off or you can pop along to the Tropical World CafΓ© for teas, coffees, cakes or lunch.

πΎ We are back up and running as normal today (6 July), and FULLY open! Thank you to all our visitors for being patient with us yesterday whilst we completed some essential maintenance works as a result of unforeseen circumstances on site.
Anybody who booked a ticket online for 05/07/2018 is more than welcome to transfer their ticket to another day, please contact parks@leeds.gov.uk to arrange this or ask a member of our shop team upon your arrival. Please note you will still need proof of your ticket purchase. πΎ
5 July: Temporary partial closure
Due to unforeseen circumstances most of Tropical World is closed today (5 July). Our butterfly house, cafΓ© and the shop still remain open, and we would welcome visitors to come and visit. We hope to have this resolved as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience.
Wishing our Young Ambassador, Thomas Paddy, a very happy 12th birthday for yesterday! Here's a photo of Thomas with our Head Keeper, Steve Dickie, during his visit to Tropical World with friends yesterday to celebrate his special day.

The Leopard Tortoise is the fourth largest species of the tortoise world, with typical adults reaching 40 centimetres and weighing 13 kilograms. They graze on mixed grasses, succulents, and thistles. Here's ours enjoying a bit of willow this morning! π’

Our Pied Imperial Pigeon chick has finally fledged from its nest in the South American house!!.. π£π Our animal keepers have given it a quick health check and are now playing parent behind the scenes! The chick will be closely monitored until it becomes independent and starts feeding itself π Stay tuned for animal updates!

Our Emerald Tree Monitor wasn't feeling camera shy this morning!
Did you know: Emerald Tree Monitor's tails can be twice the length of their body. They use it for gripping tree branches when climbing π‘
