Excellent day out with the kids, there from opening to closing time, animal feeding and encounters throughout the day, the kids loved getting to hold a snake. Great staff really friendly and knowledgeable.

Wonderful place to take the kids.
The play areas inside and out are fantastic and diverse enough to keep our kids aged 4 and 6 and a teenager happy for hours.
They have a good selection of animals for a small zoo and plenty of talks and handling sessions. The aquarium had some lovely specimens, as did the nocturnal house.
The staff were friendly and informative. The animals themselves looked active, well cared for and the staff had given them some fun themed enrichment.
The site and buildings have an interesting history which was fun to find out about.
We found it good value for money and the kids were happy to spend all day there.
Ps. Lovely chips at the café!

Many unfair reviews of Tropiquaria listed on various websites and almost didn't go as a result - thank goodness we went as myself and kids had an absolutely fantastic day there. OK, so some of the surroundings are a little tired but we went to see, learn about and enjoy the animals and were not disappointed. The staff were generous with their time, they had plenty to share about the animals and the encounters were the best we've enjoyed anywhere. A seriously underrated place and I want to give my sincere thanks to the owners for all they do and wish them every success. If you are down this way and you love animals, stop by. Worth it, based on our experience.

Tropiquaria is an attraction that would benefit from some investment to help it become the place it wants to be. The atmosphere was quite flat and you are greeted by some run down facades and children's rides that don't give out a great first impression. There are plenty of activities and play sites for kids from 3 years up which are quite good. I think Tropiquaria could be a really engaging an fun place if it can find some support and investment soon.

Don't let the outside appearance fool you. Once inside this is a great place. The animals are well looked after and the carers know their stuff. Plenty for our two year old to do seeing new animals and playing on a very fun outside adventure play park. It's a shame how it looks from the outside as we were very nearly put off by the gruff exterior. Glad we saw past this.

User

Friendly staff, kids loved it! Shame about the weather mind. The only thing I could suggest would be utilising the outside area beside the cafe as there's a lot of room with just grass.

User

A complete disappointment. We finished looking round in just over an hour, having watched two of the animal talks, which were laughable, in the bird feeding the animal expert didn't utter a word.
We did get our money back after being told to go and find the managers in the cafe if we wanted to speak to them, as they were on their lunch break.
When the manager arrived he asked us if we had an attention deficit as we complained that we didn't feel we were getting value for money from the hour experience.
Really rude staff and management. Avoid wherever possible.
