We are delighted that Gentleman @harrykane has been named @britishgq sportsman of the year. For Harry’s perfectly styled classic 1920’s gentleman’s cut, opt for short edges, leave length on top and graduate the sides. Try our Freshman Friction hair preparation, teamed with @truefittandhill styling wax to recreate his classic look.

To make a fine gentleman, several trades are required. But firstly, a good barber.

A great haircut does not happen by chance, it happens by appointment.

Whilst visiting the capital, popped in for a very invigorating shave, and beard trim. Brought some after shave as well. Great service, and well worth the experience.

User

Visited Truefitt & Hill for a hot towel wet shave recently and cannot recommend the experience enough. This is the 3rd time i have visited making the journey from the South Coast. I will be back again.

User

Superb service - nothing is too much trouble from this excellent friendly team.

No hesitation in recommending - I travel 150 miles just for a trim so that should tell you something.

Enjoy the pampering.

User

Some of the world's finest shaving creams - never disappointed me yet.

User

Old school proper customer service, who say’s men can’t enjoy a bit of a pamper occasionally?

My daughter gave the opportunity for a make-over to her father for his birthday in October. A unique experience in an olde world setting of character and grace. As we sat waiting for the event to come to an end, having been given tea, served so elegantly, I really felt as though I was in 'A mans domain'. Every man who likes to be neat and spruce should treat himself, or be treated once in a while (or often) to this experience. My husband came away from having had this treat, vowing to do it again - soon!

It's one of the oldest barbershops in the world, and for good reason. Exceptional attention to details, friendly service, and incredible old school atmosphere. Worth going for a hot lather shave especially if you haven't experienced it before. Ask for David at the St. James location.

If you are near a T&H take the time to go in! Great place for a haircut and wet shave!!

User

I was given a gift voucher as a Christmas present and decided to use it recently and treat myself to a Manicure and Wetshave and I can honestly say I found the staff most accommodating and welcoming. It was everything I wanted and more. Importantly I will most definitely be returning and hopefully I'll be joined by a few friends for them to experience the finer pleasures in life..

User

I have been to Truefitt and Hill about 3 times now and am never going anywhere else again. The care and attention to detail that their staff provide are second to none.

User

Great place and fantastic members of staff! I miss this place and look forward to returning for a shave!

For Christmas 2015 my wife gave me a gift voucher for Truefitt & Hill, I finally got round to using it today.

I had a haircut and a hot towel shave, both were superb. Jack looked after me very well, made me feel welcome and as if I actually mattered. I didn't feel like 'just another customer'.

The haircut is good and has some very tidy lines, far superior to my local barber. The shave was extremely relaxing and refreshing.

I left feeling that I had been pampered and will aim to return every couple of months...the experience is excellent.

User

Fabulous first time experience of a traditional towels and shave at the steady hand and masterful skill of Nazim. The lemon scented towels, oil, balm and cologne were evocative of a time gone by. Feels indulgent but it should be the norm. Highly recommended.

User

Been here a few times, it is just unbelievable, it's amazing. Extremely friendly staff the products they use they also sell. I have brought many of these (1805) and have the full shaver set. I can not recommend this highly enough.

User

A unique experience at the Royal barbers..not to be missed..Not as expensive as you think. Ask for Michael, he is brilliant !

User

A real luxury experience. My friends will tell me whether it is better than the Hatfield Turkish Barber.

User

A perfect shave and a very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend to anybody looking for a personal grooming experience or as a treat for someone else.

User

not sure what to think, oldest barbershop and only 1 DE razor and no straights on their website....just those junk fusion things....please tell me P&G didn't get a hold of you too. Gillette ruined,The Art of Shaving ruined....would be a sad day if they did.

In June of July 2016 I paid for a service of my straight razor. The shop was supposed to call me to pick it up when ready in about a week. Instead I called them in 3 weeks and after about 5 minutes waiting on the phone I was told to wait another week... Took it back in a hurry just before leaving in my holiday, noticed days later that it was just as blunt as before the service and worst than this: it had aesthetic damages to the blade...

Emailed the shop and this is part of their answer:

"In regard to the condition and sharpness of the razor we really are nonplussed as to how you came to the conclusion that it was not sharp enough. One of our most experienced barbers who has been with us for quite a number of years sharpened the razor and Ola, who saw the razor when you came to collect it, clarified that the razor was in excellent condition. All razors that are sharpened here are checked before they leave the premises; we practice a strict quality control here when it comes to clients property.

Sadly we are unable to accept liability on this occasion.

Yours sincerely,

Katie Broughton"

I have to say that Ola just looked at razor without doing any sharpness test and I trusted her and the supposed impeccable quality of Truefitt. I tried to shave with it, I tried a simple hair test for sharpness and still I'm the one wrong...

I can understand when mistakes are done but denying any possible wrongdoing from your side without having the decency to invite me for a test of the razor and by that just implying that I'm somehow lying (for what ? for the sake of saving the £25 cost of the service ?!) is an unbelievable bad customer service, worst than anything I ever received so far.

In December I went to Taylor of Old Bond Street with the same razor I haven't use since my failed try in summer. Without telling them anything, their man didn't just looked at it like Ola of Truefitt but actually tested it and bluntly said: "This razor is blunt sir". I paid for a new service, a week later they called me and now I have a wonderfully serviced and sharp razor.

Kind regards,

Stefan Saigau
