Truro had players involved in the National Inter-County Finals in Brum over the weekend. Matt H, Jamie L, Neil C, Jon W, Dave M, Tony B & Russ J all took part at Birmingham Uni and Solihull with the O35s winning the Trophy (so 5th) and the 60s just losing out to Wales in their final (6th overall in England and Wales). History was made as this was the first time Cornwall made it to the last 8! A great achievement for such a small county.....

Bad luck to TR3 who lost to NQY2 last night in the Play-Off Final to decide overall Cornwall Squash Champions. They were well-beaten in the end by a talented side but were without Rory at 1. The final score was 3-1 to Newquay. Let’s see if the Truro combined team can retain the Pawle Cup? That too will be much harder this year with Newquay looking favourites. Super Saturday, the traditional end to the season, is 11th May.

Mega brilliant Racketball Festival in aid of Papworth Hospital last Saturday. With over 50 players and their entourages, bar staff and the wonderful College Sports Massage Team, Truro HQ was jumping all day. Play commenced at 9am and continued non-stop all day. There were some amazing matches especially in the finals and many tired limbs and aching joints at the end of the day. Over £700 was raised for the appeal, Eliza dropped in to see us with proud parents Sarah and Nigel in attendance too, so all was well! Mega brilliant days don’t just happen....you need a main man and top bloke like Pete. Thank you Pete, ably assisted by Marie and Rosie, and thank you Truro S&R Club for hosting the event from all of us in the Cornwall Squash and Racketball community......

If you live nearby we recommend you walk in/get a lift. PLAY COMMENCES 9AM SHARP - please arrive 15 mins before. Food and refreshments, raffle and a great atmosphere guaranteed!
