Today marks the start of Farm Safety week. Last year 137 people were killed or fatally injured in workplace accidents, 27 of these worked in agriculture. UK farmers account for 1.5% of workers but 15-20% of all workplace fatalities (HSE). This year there is emphasis is on educating the farmers of tomorrow about the dangers on the farm. With the NFYFC encouraging Young Farmers clubs around the country to "pledge" their support by putting the NFYFC Farm Safety Curve Training Module into their clubs programme.
