You can come along to a local course or We can come to your home and deliver a private session to ensure we fit around your other commitments. . . . . . . or should we say your babies! !

This is devastating and should never happen to any family! And yet, somehow they found the absolute courage and bravery to let their beautiful boys organs be donated, to save another’s life! This story, especially, struck a cord with me as our 9 month old is called Benjamin and nothing brings it home more than a child that reminds you of your own!
I’m a donor. They can take anything they want. Please make sure your relatives know your wishes! 💔

This is the very reason ALL children need to know CPR! Well done! https://www.bbc.co.uk/…/cpr-school-life -saving-lessons-help…

Last night ITV Tyne Tees news reported on the importance of learning CPR and life-saving skills. Two points from their report really stood out for me;
1. 84% of people who didn't know CPR had no interest in learning it.
... 2. Behavioural experts studies showed that actually, people do get involved and try to help in an emergency situation (even though they didn't think they would).
So, if someone has a cardiac arrest in front of us and our built in, subconscious response is to help them.......most of us would not know how to!
It is really simple to learn and could literally save a life. The time between somebody having a cardiac arrest and an ambulance arriving is the time when a life can be saved. If CPR is carried out in those crucial minutes then chances of survival increase x3!
Everyone is a bystander......but don't just stand by! http://tumblesandgrumbles.co.uk/book-a-co urse/

Last term we taught some Y6 children how to be Little Rescuers champions! They were brilliant! This term they are passing on their knowledge to their Reception buddies in our Little Rescuers Buddy Programme! Listen as one of the Y6 tells his buddy about the 4 “rooms” (chambers) of the heart and how he encourages him to touch it! ❤️

I attended the Baby and Child First Aid course and it was fantastic! It was 3 hours completely well spent. Caroline is amazing and delivers the most important life skills in an informative and engaging way. You never know when/if you might need these skills so I would highly recommend taking this course, it has given me confidence should I need to use any of the skills taught. Thank you.

Today is National Hug Day and this is still my most favourite hug to watch! They say that hugging is telling someone you care without using the words! Have a hug today!

We talk about Sepsis on our Parent course but please take a look at this video and get familiar with the signs! And most importantly......trust your instincts, they are rarely wrong! 👍

My Paramedic colleague shared this post recently and we couldn’t agree more! It’s very true that we need as much help as possible in an emergency, but that should never replace the basics of first aid......stay safe and get help! #dial999

ARE YOU LOOKING TO CHANGE YOUR STORY IN 2020? HERE’S HOW I CHANGED MINE! This is not a 10 year challenge post but 2020 does look exciting for Tumbles and Grumbles! On the eve of 2009 I was preparing for a huge house party and was excited about the new role I was moving into within the ambulance service (Hazardous Area Response Team) and the prospect of buying a new house with my Partner. All of those things happened and as the decade rolled on, so did a lot more! In 2012 my ...

I am sure most of you guys have started the festivities already but by close of today it is officially Christmas! I want to wish everybody a fantastic festive time with family, friends and fun.....and whatever else Christmas means to you! Recently, a few people have asked me how they can keep their little ones safe at Christmas time because there are things around the house that usually aren’t on a day to day basis, like small toys, batteries, sellotape, wrapping paper, poly...styrene etc. There is sometimes lots of food to nibble like crisps, nuts, sweets etc. It’s impossible to keep our little ones away from these things as they want to explore and investigate, and sometimes these things become part of the adventure 😳! Try and keep foods like nuts out of reach, maybe on a counter or high table and don’t leave batteries lying around. Most importantly, know what to look out for when it come to choking and how to help if you notice it. Have an absolutely amazing Christmas and we I can’t wait for a new and exciting 2020!!☃️🌲🤶
