Pinkster Raspberry Gin 37.5%
Pinkster Gin all came about when founder Stephen realised wine and beer no longer agreed with him.
A keen maker of sloe liqueurs and other concoctions, he turned his attention to spirits and started experimenting at home, mashing assorted fruits with different spirit strengths.
... It wasn't his intention to create a pink drink, it's just that after working his way through an entire fruit bowl, raspberry delivered the best flavour.
G&J Distillers, one of the world’s oldest gin distilleries, was recruited to the cause. They produce the core spirit with five botanicals to the original stunning recipe.
This is then macerated with a further three botanicals, including fresh raspberries grown locally to our rural base outside Cambridge. Tasting Notes Nose: Slight hint of orange peels with a subtle aroma of unsurprisingly, raspberries coming through.
Palate: Yet more fruit, in the background is a hint of pepper with vanilla. Raspberry of course the focal point.
Finish: Raspberries and a grassy hint of water mint. https://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/pinkster-raspb erry-gin-70cl-375-…

Wolfburn Aurora Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% In 2011, the founders of Wolfburn Single Malt Whisky travelled to Thurso in Caithness, the most northerly town on the British mainland, in search of the old Wolfburn Distillery, originally founded in 1821.
After 150 years of neglect, what they found of what was once one of the largest whisky producers in the country, was a pile of old stones. The only thing that remained was the flow of water that once fed the mash tun and stills... all those years ago.
The team were convinced that if the water was still there, then the whisky could be too and in May 2012, the purchase of the land was finalised.
By January 2013 the new Wolfburn Distillery was complete and on Burns Night, a cask of Wolfburn Whisky - the first for nearly 150 years - was laid down in Thurso.
The worts are fermented for roughly 75 hours then the spirit is double distilled, slowly, first through the wash still and then through the spirit still.
It is once the distillation is complete that the whisky begins to transform; matured in two different types of casks, 20% is matured in firstfill Spanish Oloroso sherry hogsheads and 80% in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels.
The casks are stored using traditional dunnage methods; on their side, bung up, on stows, never higher than three.
At the end of the maturation process, the casks are brought together to create an exceptionally smooth and perfectly balanced dram. Tasting Notes Nose: Sweet sherry accompanied by dried fruits and malt.
Palate:Currants and Raisins. Mixed nuts and Barley.
Finish: A long spicy sherry finish. https://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/wolfburn-auror a-single-malt-scot…

Francois Voyer Cognac VSOP 40% The Voyer family has been producing cognac in the Grande Champagne region since 1870.
The villages of Verrières and Ambleville are two exceptional communes within the heart of the Grande Champagne area of Cognac, in an area known as the ‘Golden Belt’, which has been home to François Voyer for more than 5 generations.
... It is here that the Voyer family have distilled their wines since 1870, producing smooth, elegant and haunting Cognacs from an exceptional terroir in an exceptional region.
They create their Cognacs the way they cultivate their vines; with great passion. François Voyer is above all a family story and their care for quality starts in the vineyards and its 28 hectares of Ugni Blanc, cultivated on the chalky soils of the region.
They offer a wide range of aromatic expressions to suit every palate from beginner to connoisseur. Tasting Notes Lovely tobacco and cedarwood on the nose with dried flowers. Spicy yet mellow on the palate with great length. https://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/francois-voyer -cognac-vsop-70cl-…

Fantastic afternoon spent on an informal whiskey taste. I'm a complete novice on whiskeys where as my father is a seasoned single malt drinker. We both came away having sampled a good range of single malts and even a cheeky bourbon and rum. The staff there are very helpful, polite and knowledgeable on the products and made us feel very at home.

Excellent service and highly recommended.
