Tyler Cassells Equine Description
With a fantastic background as a professional event rider based at Somerford Park, Cheshire & over 15 years of experience, BE Accredited trainer Tyler Cassells brings both passion and expertise in helping you achieve!
Tyler studied for A levels & BHSAI qualifications at Queen Ethelburga’s College, so he could bring on his young horse. He was awarded the prestigious Karen Dixon Scholarship, as well as a scholarship through Haddon Training for levels 2 & 3 National Vocational Qualifications in Horse Management. He then graduated with a BA(Hons) degree in Equine Science and Management from Warwickshire College.
Tyler worked with international showjumper Tim Stockdale for a year as a Groom /Rider before he met 4* event rider and BE accredited trainer John Marsden & groomed for him at Weston Park International Horse Trails 2007. He joined the team a year later.
Tyler was selected for the BEF Excell Talent Programme and the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) 2011 /2012.
2014 saw Tyler complete his first CIC*** at Blenheim Palace with Grandslam and in October Grandslam & Tyler also made it through to the final 3 for Mark Todd's Bridging the Gap Scholarship.
The season so far has seen Tyler move several of his horses up to the next level of eventing! Tyler & Grandslam went to the Netherlands and competed for Team GB in the BRC CIC** Europeans to come 4th individually and win TEAM SILVER! ! Tyler has also made the transition to advanced and 3* successfully with Badminton and Burghley firmly within his sight.
