UCL is at the heart of a community of first-class Egyptologists based at the Institute of Archaeology, the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, the British Museum, and the Egypt Exploration Society. Building on the pioneering work of Sir Flinders Petrie, first UK chair holder of Egyptian Archaeology, Egyptologists at UCL pursue cutting-edge research and set Ancient Egypt and Sudan in a global perspective, past and present. UCL offers a BA Egyptian Archaeology, a BA Ancient History and Egyptology, and an MA Egyptian and Near Eastern Archaeology.
