The Bar society would just like to take a moment to say a huge congratulations to all getting their final results tonight ( well midnight they were released). Some students don’t get theirs until the re sit period and others get them in just over a week. However, from what results those that have shared with their loved ones and friends on social media, a huge well done. No matter what you came out with, you have done amazing.
We all get different grades, all get different ...results so please don’t compare yourself to others just look at how far you have come. To those who are now embarking on a new journey away from Uclan, the bar society want to wish you the very best. To the other students who are progressing to their next year, you are one step closer to your dreams. Work hard and you will reap the rewards. You’ve got this! Again, a huge congratulations to all of you. 👩🏻‍💻

Happy Easter to all. Who is stuck in revising and getting through it with the help of endless chocolate? Exam season is fast upon us. We can do it! What are your best revision tips that help? Are you the king or queen of procrastination? How do you stay focused? Here are some tips from the UCLan Bar Society.... - have a clear plan. Topic by topic. - set times for each one. Don’t overload the same topic. 2-4 hours. Then take a little break. Go for a walk, ring a friend.- SLEEP...! One of the most important things for revision. A tired mind does not absorb information the way it could when it’s rested- Stay hydrated. - When in doubt look at how far you have come and how much closer you are to the end goal. Most of all stay positive. Remember..... fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Good luck with the next 3-4 weeks. Please inbox us if you would like any support. We are all in this together. Closer to the bar each day. #iamthebar #law #lawexams #uclanlaw

The Bar Society and law society would like to wish everyone sitting exams tomorrow and the remainder of January the very best of luck! Don’t forget, we all have moments of doubt. When in doubt take a few minutes out. My tip from personal experience is I write all cases relating to the topics I’ve chosen on the paper before I start. As once I’ve started my mind is a blank canvas. I’m the worst at remembering cases in exams. This is just my way and it helps me. I can go back a...nd cross check I’ve used them or if I randomly think of another when in the midst of a completely different question I write that down too. You will all have your own ways in exams but remember, just do your best. Exams are naturally stressful. Get a good sleep, remember you are good enough and remember it’s not forever. All the best.
Please feel free to contact one of us if you need to go for a coffee or a chat. We are all in this together. We can do this!

It’s the Bar Societies Christmas night out this Saturday, we have one space available due to a change in numbers. If anyone from the society wishes to take this place, please let me know. It’s going to be an amazing fun night with lots of 🍾and a chance to unwind before the second semester.

I would like to say a huge congratulations on behalf of the bar society and law school on one it’s most aspiring young barristers......Penny Wellock. Penny has been a very active participant of the society since day one and has travelled to London to the bar council fair, engaged in our current prestigious Willem vis Moot which is dedication in itself. Not to mention all her studies within UCLan. The big congratulations we would like you all to join us with is that today s...he secured her first mini pupillage. What an achievement. I personally know Penny and she truly is an asset to the law school and deserves this opportunity!
You can all do it! Penny is in her first year so nothing should stand in your way!
Well done! #iamthebar

I would like to wish a huge congratulations to the lovely Denise Westall for securing the position of the social secretary of the Bar Society. I have worked alongside Denise for several years since our journey at UCLan. Denise is someone who we are all honoured to call our friend and she has an amazing fire within her with her enthusiasm. A very well done to everyone else in the elections and you have all done so well! Here’s to the rest of the years team work at part of UCLan.

Tomorrow is the last day to show your interest for the Willem Vis Moot. We are hosting a couple of introductory talks ( we’ve already had the main one ) however, we know some couldn’t make it so if you let us know your interest by tomorrow, we can see what we can do with timings. Our first actual session is on Wednesday and it’s a vital session.
It’s an amazing opportunity that all law students can engage in. If you have any questions; please message on the number on the post...er or alternatively the email provided.
To be involved in something so prestigious will truly make an impression for future employers and also help build even more advocacy skills!
