Uea Law School Description

UEA Law School is a vibrant community of expert academics, ambitious students with strong and meaningful links to the wider community, supported by our highly successful alumni.

The school is renowned for the high quality of its courses and internationally recognised research, as well as providing an intimate, student focused experience. In the 2015 National Student Survey we received an overall satisfaction score of 98 per cent ranking first for overall satisfaction and ranked second for teaching out of all English university Law departments.

We provide innovative, stimulating and research-led teaching across all areas of the law curriculum and offer a friendly environment with approachable staff and a strong student support system.

Our law graduates are highly regarded by employers both in and outside the legal profession and we have well-established and excellent relationships with many local, regional, national and international law firms. Working with our students to enhance their employability and the development of legal and transferable skills is also core to all our courses.

The UEA Law School is excited to announce a new collaboration with The University of Law!
From this September, The Legal Practice Course (LPC), which is the main qualifying course required to practise law for solicitors in England and Wales, will be taught by the University of Law at UEA in Norwich. UEA joins 12 other universities who offer the course, including Exeter, Reading, and Liverpool. Teaching will be classroom-based for one year and students will have access to UEA facilities including the recently renovated Earlham Hall and Law Library.
You can find out more information about the course and how to apply here: http://ow.ly/50oK50udsMN

Have you considered working as an “in-house” legal advisor? Many large businesses, government bodies, regulators, and not for profit organisations, employ in-house legal advisors.
Many lawyers spend their entire career working in-house. Many others spend part of their career as an in-house legal adviser, and part of their career working in private practice (either as a barrister or within a firm of solicitors). It is fairly common for lawyers to move between private practice ...and in-house roles.
To learn more about a career as an in-house legal advisor, come along to our panel tomorrow in Congregation Hall at 16:00. Hear from a panel of in-house legal advisors working across a variety of different firms and sectors, and have your questions answered.
The event is free and open to everyone, there is no need to book.

Law Students,
If you’re currently in Norwich, you may be in the final stretch to finish your coursework. You may also be gearing up for the start of the new semester. If so, you’re going to want to start your day off right with a good breakfast to set yourself up for a productive study session.
You are invited to drop by and have a chat with Claudina Richards (Director of Learning & Teaching) over a free breakfast tomorrow. Here, she will be on-hand to answer any questions you may have about any and all aspects of life at the Law School. It all starts at 8:30 Friday, in Namaste, the Enterprise Centre Cafe!

This week we were pleased to host Norfolk Community Law Service, Leeway Charity, Longe & Co Family Law Solicitors, and a selection of UEA Law students for "DOMESTIC ABUSE: An Awareness Raising Session for UEA Students". This event showcased some of the vital work students and local organisations are performing in the community, and some of the ways students can become more aware of domestic abuse, as well as how to offer help and support to those who need it.
If you wish to find out more about some of those presenting at this event, you can visit http://www.ncls.co.uk/ www.leewaysupport.org and http://longeandco.com/
