Ugarit Cuisine

Went for a Meal with my wife, waiter was very helpful in advising us some good choices on the menu. Portions were very generous and the food was fantastic. Really pleasant atmosphere. We will be back soon.

We dined as a family with three young children on a weekday lunchtime. The restaurant is light and airy with more secluded spots for a quiet dining experience, there are even majlis upstairs.



The service was friendly and welcoming as well as being efficient.



We ordered adult sized chicken shawarma wraps with chips for the children, a shish tawook platter and a lamb kebab platter.



We drank fresh orange and fresh lemon juice and a jug of tap water.



There was nothing left.



The portions were ample in size but really exquisitely delicious. We have been craving Levantine cuisine since moving back to Yorkshire from the gulf. This is the best we have tasted. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and the meat is incredibly tender.



Do not miss this gem of a restaurant.

Omg Syrian cuisine is the best beats every takeaway every restaurant. I've been to nearly all of them.

The food was lush I loved the salmon and rice. The haira soup. Starter. The sausage starter and it was all so yummy.

I felt so happy with the money I spent for once in my life am grateful and thank full to Ugarit for looking after me love you Ugarit enough love :) xxx

Ps the fresh lemonade everything was fresh so tasty hehe xxxx

My partner and I have eaten here twice recently, and everything was absolutely perfect. The service, the food, the little complimentary sweets at the end - All perfect. It's a fabulous place, an absolute Diamond in Huddersfield's crown and we will definitely be back �����

Love this place, the food is excellent and it's a breath of fresh air in town but does anyone know what the limitations of the takeout are?

To wit, just popped in to grab a quick mix shawrma wrap and I was told they had finished. Is there a peak time/day I should avoid if I want to grab what is easily one of the best takeaway dishes there?

Had a great time here with my fiancé. The restaurant is so clean, light and airy. The service was great. The portion sizes of the starters and main courses were big. Everything was hot and packed with flavour. Even the cost was great. We will definitely be going back.

Great relaxed atmosphere, polite staff and interesting decor... and then the food came!!! I had a wonderful Salmon grilled with spices which was extremely tasty. My friend had the skewered Chicken (Shish Taouk) - the chicken was beautifully cooked and didn't require a knife to cut it!! Both came with the best chips I've had in a very long time and a great salad.



Being used to hotter chili sauce, we were both a little worried when we had our first taste, but we shouldn't have been. It did not devastate with each mouthful, but complemented the food and the other spices perfectly.



Plan to go again and again and again!!

Waiter has an attitude problem .. there wasn’t anuf meat for the price you pay .. didn’t feel welcome . Plus side you get a nice view of all the druggies and wanna be gangsta’s

This is more of a cafe than restaurant but they charge restaurant prices. No alcohol available. The starter was Ok but the main courses were extremely bland. The music was terrible. 7pm on Saturday and it was empty, says it all.

Very poor service, highly overpriced and appalling food quality. (image in comments).

The food (a Biryani Lamb with rice) arrived cold and tasted bland; and there was more salad than the unpalatable measly portion of rice that looked like a bad sample more than anything. Meat was gooey and slimy (its texture felt like processed meat. Definitely meat tenderizers). It's not only expensive, the food and service is appalling. Would strongly advise against ordering from this restaurant. And yes, one star is too many & I wish I could rate this distasteful kitchen minus 10 out of 100.
