Good Morning Facebook Friends We have had a request by one of the wards for any unwanted hand weights/dumbbells ? (The plastic moulded ones rather than metal as needs to be wipe cleanable) It might be something that you have in their house/garage that you don't use anymore? If you have any please can you drop them off at the charity office in main reception. Thank you 😘

The tables were turned during a recent charity night held at the Black Horse Pub in Market Bosworth. Keen to raise funds to support our young patients, Assistant Manager, Grant Burnham came up with the novel idea of asking his staffs children to wait on customers . A team of 16 children took part and helped raise a fantastic £3074. A huge thanks to Grant, staff and their families and to all who attended. The donation will be put to great use as staff plan to purchase a mobile sensory unit which can be taken to the bedside of children with special needs. Fabulous Fundraising.

We can't say a big enough thanks to our wonderful army of knitters who do an amazing job keeping our tiny patients lovely and snug in their beautiful creations. Thank You, Ladies, All your hard work means so much to all of us

User

We spent the day on ward 16 yesterday whilst my 3 year old had surgery on his gums and teeth after an unfortunate incident on the trampoline. Every single staff member we came into contact with was absolutely amazing and provided care way above any expectations we could have hoped for, and his anaesthetic consultant was amazing going the extra mile to reassure me that she’d take such good care of him. Then the final touch which we’ve just found out was the little extra in his tooth fairy envelope. What started as a hugely traumatic experience for us all ended up with us and Joshua feeling comforted/confident, and reassured. Thank you so so much for our 5* experience- although we hope not to be back too soon xxx

The NHS comes in for some criticism quite frequently, but when the muck hits the fan, there is nothing on Earth quite like it ! The NHS are the staff, and throughout my wife's current stay in the critical care unit, the High dependancy unit and on general wards, the care & compassion shown to her and us as a family, are to be highly commended. This goes far, far beyond just "doing their job", and if I had my way, would be far more highly regarded in this topsy turvy world of the wrong professions getting huge pay rises, but that's another debate. So on behalf on myself & my Daughter, and mostly my Wife, "Thank You" for saving her life ! Pete - Shropshire xxx

Staff are excellent. They have been great with both of my children on recent visits.

User

I would like to thank UCHW for their excellent service and levels of care, I think many people in the United Kingdom DO NOT take such services for granted. My father has been in Intensive Care the past 7 days and every nurse and doctor we have spoke to have been absolutely amazing. Please APPRECIATE and give back something to the people day and night who look after and care for your loved ones...

User

I really need to thank so many people at UHCW, I was called on Wednesday the 6th to say I had a kidney waiting for me, I have had kidney failure for 8 years, I had my transplant 7 days ago, I feel great! I am doing so so well, I am so overwhelmed by everything everyone here has done for me, there are so many people to thank, I have given hospital feedback but needed to post it here too. I want to thank my surgeon Mr Hunter, anaesthetist team, the doctors, nurses, HCA'S, ecu team, ward 2, ward 50, ward 22, xray, everyone! You are all in my head and heart and can't thank you enough for everything. I will be doing a better thank you xxxxx 1000 stars from me

User

I didnt love being in a&e with a relatively nuisance injury, but i was dealt with quickly and then i had a wait along with a load of other people, no problem, hardworking staff trying to deal with masses of people, of course there is a wait, this is what to expect. Staff stretched to the limit but under the circumstances they do a great job.

User

I am having problems with my eyes. All i can say is the doctors and nurses have been absolutely fantastic. I can't fault them without them i could of lost my sight. The only negative is the parking at the hospital is expensive.

User

Excellent service with pleasant and informative staff. Helping to ease the process and aid a quicker departure after the procedure.

User

Despite the ever increasing pressure the NHS faces my daughter received caring and dignified care. She was taken in via ambulance due to stridor, yes we waited for hours, yes it was understaffed however this is no fault of the hospitals but the government who are bringing our NHS to its knees! The triage nurse was so lovely and friendly to my little girl, the doctor was the same, she was given medication and calpol when I asked. It's a clean friendly hospital in my experience! The wait times and lack of staff is incredibly frustrating but again that's no fault of the hospital! Thank you for mending my baby girl! Very grateful :)

User

Cannot thank ward 15 and the hdu team enough for the care they have gave to my baby boy in the last 2 months they've been amazing hopefully I will never see them again (in the nicest possible way)

Thanks from Benjamin x x x

User

Amazing staff that do an amazing hard job hats off to you all.

User

All the staff here do an amazing job and they never get enough credit for the job they do,

Just to say a massive thank you for looking after me every 8 weeks in day surgery you’re all a credit to the hospital many thanks again.

User

I went to the Emergency Department on Saturday morning about 07:30 and already it was starting to fill up. From the generalman on the desk to the nurses, Dr and X-Ray staff, everyone was really nice to me. I was prepared to wait as I know any emergences that arrive will be seen first. The nursing staff put my foot in plaster and a appointment was made for me to be seen the following morning at the fracture clinic. The staff at the fracture clinic were also nice and friendly. I would like to say A BIG THANK YOU for making the time I spent at the hospital a plesent one. Happy New Year to you all. 😘

User

Car parking to expensive what can you do in the free 10 mins theres not enough disabled parking other than that the services are good its a pity theres to many people abusing A&E

User

Can't fault the staff looked after me very well once I got on the ward Arrived at 7.30 and didn't get a bed for my op till 3.30 which I thought was a disgrace ! Was even told it may be cancelled. All the nurses and doctors over worked but still doing there job to perfection. Thankyou to all the team at the day care ward

User

I feel terrible not awarding 5 stars for the night shift at Lucina on the 10/11 may, they were incredible especially a tall midwife called Zoe she really was exceptional and an incredible professional..for them I would give 5 stars,,, then came the day shift. Wow borderline neglect, didn’t monitor my partners heavy bleeding at all as the night staff had, didn’t pick my newborn son up for any kind of examination until the hearing lady came to visit (who was fantastic) . Unhelpful and careless, i did just think they were busy u TIL I seen them in the reception area most of the day, speaking to others we had the exact same experience. A single member of day staff a middle aged blond lady wearing a burgundy tunic was the rose amongst the thorns she was helpful but she did look busy unlike some of the others.. Night staff fantastic- day staff neglectful and lazy.

User

Was sent to the A&E dept by 111 medical line. This review is ONLY about the A&E dept which is very poorly organised. Conflicting information given on where you are in the que. Appalling cleanliness of the waiting room, bins overflowing floor full of rubbish. Hot drinks machine rarely working, snacks machine nearly empty. ENP very rude. Any lamen could organise a more efficient system. Appalling, I never intend to got to this A&E ever in my life again. Will defiantly use alternative hospitals.

User

Walsgrave hospital is to be honest is S ###!

It changed alot over the years keeping people waiting for longer period of time at clinics, blood tests etc

The wards is not cleaned properly, some staff treated patients as if they are invisible when needed.

PALS is s### aswell as I not heard a peep out of them when made a complaint... went back to find out told they forgotten about it ! What kind is system is that?! Not wasting my time again!

The Door entrance to the hospital is crap need to be scrapped as u get stuck when going round a few times !

User

Not a great experience over a 7.5 hour wait, seemed to be forgot about and only because a lovely nurse realised I was still there and went away to find out what was the hold up that action happened. It wasn’t just me experiencing this as waiting room quite full at early hours am. I am sure a better system could be adopted. To cap it all vending machines empty or out of order so one couldn’t even get a hot drink.
