The petition is an attempt to stop restrictions on "the freedom of panorama", in other words if you can see a building from a public place, it is in the public eye and therefore you are free to photograph it and also to possibly profit from that photograph. Great to see my old mucker Paul Zanders and his invention the Dedleg at BVE stall C45 today. It saves sound recordist's backs from the weight of kit they have to carry via a retractable carbon fibre support.

First day on an #Amira . What a lovely camera. On my shoulder all day, lots of high contrast drama scenes interior and exterior high speed no time no worries. Literally couldn't have done it without the crack team of the Amira and a fantastic focus puller, Ian Pearce, keeping it all in check.

One of my favourite recce apps is from microsoft, I'm quite surprised to say. Photosynth, which builds a complete navigable image of locations, has spawned Hyperlapse for smoothing out moving time lapses, and I have to say its rather impressive. Microsoft eh? Bit battered today. Been on a two day junket in a spooky secret section of the Paris catacombs. The get-in/ get-out was the equivalent to carrying all the kit to the top of the Shard, by the stairs, then back down again. All very worth it though, it looked great.
