We’d like announce and show our to be Level 1 England Boxing coach, Jamie, Jamie has won 3rd place today in Mr Cumbria. Jamie is an ex marine who now teaches and inspires troubled kids working with them at school.
Jamie has been training really hard for this competition and deserves his 3rd place (bronze) for what he's put himself through and still finds time to help with the juniors at UDBC, a real indpiration . His son Charley is showing and developing real potential too in boxing and if he's going to be like his dad we’ll have a champion in the making 👊👊👊

When your 16y old protege boxer Matthew puts the heavy bag in its place 👊👊👊 Mathew was doing #PunchLab 1 min 100 power punches drill and snapped the bracket clean of with his amazing power..
Matthew is now ready for trips to other gyms for sparring and will be ready for skills bout the start of 2019/20 season. Matthew is an ex Amateur Boxing Association Scotland boxer who lost out in a close bout in ABAS championships Finals. He had we break from boxing for while and returned... to us back end of last year.
The plan is a skills bout to get familiar with how @englandboxingofficial shows and bouts are governed and judged. Without the pressure of winning. Then onto scored bout. I'd be very surprised if Matthew isn't competing in ABA championships in the not to distant future (maybe our first older boxer champion). Matthew always pushed himself to limit in training which is a sign all coaches look for, he never coasts through training.
One thing is for sure now, I can't play with him in sparring like I used to when he was 14, he's to darn strong now 👊👊👊👊

Club Notice: Just quick reminder there's no training tonight, due to an art exhibition being held downstairs, to help raise funds for the church which in turn keeps the cost of running the gym to a minimum.

... Juniors (U16s) 17:30-18:45 Seniors (16y +) 19:00-20:30
We have changed the times to accommodate those travelling from other towns. 17:00 is just a little to soon for those working and having to rush home to try and make it for 17:00hrs. This new time should help take the pressures off a little.
