We are looking for some volunteers to help out with the American Football team at the University after Christmas. We have a big squad of 50-60 players and train at Streatham campus on the 3G pitch. We only train on a Wednesday from 5pm until 7pm and on a Sunday, if we don't have a game, from 9am until 11am. Our games are played on a Sunday and we have 5 games back-to-back from January 20th with training restarting on January 6th.
We are looking for someone to attend our train...ing sessions and games to help the team out in any way they can, particularly looking at recovery, injuries and potential taping situations but this is not required. At the moment, we don't have anything of this sort in place so something is better than nothing. If there is anybody willing to help out we would be able to offer:
-Fantastic experience which looks great on a CV -Free stash (Hoodies, tshirts, hats, etc.) -Free meal and drink after games at Allstars Sports Bar with the team -Transport via Coach to games -Potential other benefits
We would provide a medical bag and some tape but if the volunteer wants to bring their own stuff that is absolutely fine. Also, on game days there is always a paramedic present who takes the lead for all medical issues during the game.
To put this opportunity into perspective, i know a Sports Therapist who was with a different University American Football team for four years and was then asked to go to the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018. Anything could happen so why not give it a try?
If anyone is interested or wants some more information, can they please email myself on cr510@exeter.ac.uk
Thanks, Chris Robson-Close

We need participants for our 30-minute study on St Luke's next week (last week of term). Our dissertation is on Mental Toughness and how it can predict performance on a computerized memory task in a pain and no pain condition. Don't worry, the pain is just you putting your hand in cold water for 2 minutes (lots of people have done it, so you'll be fine).
These are the lab times we have booked next week (commencing 10th Dec) in RB35 on St Luke's: Monday all day, Tuesday 9-12, Wednesday all day, and Thursday 10-2.
If you could please spare 30 minutes of your time to help us with our dissertation then please send us an email (vh270 or gi219) saying when you can come in! You'll get to test your mental toughness abilities and be provided with juice and cookies!! (if you're a 3rd year - we can participate in your study).
