{E-Gates update}
The UK Government has recently expanded the use of eGates to eligible nationals from Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and the United States of America.
This means students on a visa (more than 6 months long) from these nations do not need a stamp in their pasport on arrival to the UK.
... Anyone coming to the UK for short term study (less than 6 months) is instructed to see an officer on arrival rather than use the eGates, as they need to get their passport stamped on arrival.
What you need to do: β€’ Please note, international short term students (under 6 months) from the seven countries to see an officer on arrival and NOT use the eGates.
β€’ If they do use the eGates they will be able to enrol on their course but will not be able to study for longer than 30 days without leaving the Common Travel Area (UK, Ireland, Crown Dependencies) and seeking re-entry in the correct category via a Border Force officer. There will be official guidance shared shortly confirming the details of this.

We now have some information available on our website about Brexit. If you are a EU/EEA national, you can continue to work, study, and live in the UK without restriction, just as you do now. However, you may need to apply for permission if you wish to stay in the UK after December 2020.
This process is free, simple, and straightforward but there are deadlines you must meet. We have published all the important information that you need to know about your immigration status af...ter Brexit, including guidance on applying under the EU Settlement Scheme, on our Visa and Immigration webpages.
