Nottingham's Department of Music, one of seven departments in the School of Humanities, offers a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate music courses. Our teaching is linked to the diverse range of staff research interests, including the areas of Music on Stage and Screen, Early Music, and Music in Contemporary Culture.

Thank you to the Villiers Quartet for reading through our final year portfolio students’ compositions today! It was a great opportunity for our students to hear what they have written and work with professional musicians!
Our Head of Dept Nick Baragwanath will be working with young musicians in the Netherlands all next week, on ways to perform, compose, and analyse 18th-century music. He will be giving classes at Leuven University and Amsterdam Conservatoire, as well as invited lectures at the Universities of Amsterdam and Maastricht.

An opportunity for singers!
Entries to the David Clover Festival of Singing close on 25th November.
This is a recent initiative in the David Clover Festival of Singing and is intended to give the opportunity to Singers already studying at universities and conservatoires, to postgraduates,... and to those being privately tutored, to continue the development of their art with substantial prize money. Eligibility to this section of the David Clover Festival is for singers between the ages of 19 and 28 at 26 January 2018.
