Their administration team will cause massive problems for you, and you will be expected to realise and sort out these problems on your own. In my instance, I was overcharged for a course by £900 which I did not receive back because of complications with SFE, which caused massive financial issues, stress and in turn led me to failing one of my modules. They have also consistently given me the wrong exam and following year not had my name on the exam list twice.

update- they denied me entering my third year on the basis that I had failed my foundation degree, and low and behold they mail me the results IN NOVEMBER saying I have passed. Absolutely typical. Now I have to register late and be an entire 2 months behind in seminars or wait till next year.

Whilst i'm sure many people will have a pleasant experience here, and that my experience is not typical, unfortunately I have not.

I studied here in 1999 to 2001 on an HND Sportswear Design course but I didn't really like the place much.

Brilliant university to study at, the staff always went above and beyond to help out and make the lectures as engaging as possible. I met some great people and learnt so much!

Extortionately overpriced studies in all areas. more than anything shocked me that they can not provide parking for all students/staff on campus even after 2 years of construction works... They've built a new building but no parking for it... and whats even more ridiculous students and staff have to pay to park, when they already paid their fee to be in uni... And just generally establishment that is trying to charge students for anything possible, beginning from overpriced coffee all the way to paying for printing..

I was a student reading Business Studies in 2000. I found the student life fabulous.

Lecturers were on the whole well presented with notes/handouts given to everyone in the lecture and tutorials.

They inform me one month before moving to Manchester that the master I applied will not take place! They are very irresponsible. Thinks like that show the unprofessional character of this university! Business and money are the the things that count and not learning! I will never trust my future and academic career to this university! I am also lucky that I haven't studied there.

Fantastic university to study at; the balance between practical and theory lectures was perfect, staff always went out of their way to help you and the course was insightful and invigorating. I had some superb times here and met some great people.

The university of Salford could not have provided me with a better experience of university life. The staff and students are friendly. The course was not that great though!

As a journalism student, there really isn't a better place to be studying at than the University of Salford. The university trains you to use world-class camera and radio equipment, giving you great experience before you step into the profession of journalism. Furthermore, with the course being based at Media City next to BBC and ITV studios, you can easily make connections with professionals in the business and gain valuable work experience. Despite it's unfairly poor reputation, Salford is a fantastic, multi-cultural and growing city. The University of Salford is representative of that fact as it is constantly trying to better itself and improve it's student experience. Becoming a student at Salford will be the best decision you ever make!

I'm about to start my third year at Salford University and I've had a great time so far. The close-knit community creates a very homely atmosphere while out and about on campus and there's nearly always something going on. Lectures and other extra opportunities have helped me to build up my confidence and I can't imagine myself studying anywhere else now. I've made lots of like minded friends throughout my time here, both from my course and first year accommodation - I still live with this group of friends now :-)
