Drowning is amongst the leading causes of accidental death in the UK. Statistics for 2017 show 255 people accidentally drowned in the UK, and of these accidental deaths 50% of the people were not even taking part in water based activities. The "at risk" groups include:
- Runners and Walkers.... - People unfamiliar with the area i.e. Tourists, visitors, new students. - People on a night out
