What can we say about our recent family holiday in Romania other than it was fantastic! Our hotels were all comfortable and in great locations and the Ice Hotel will be an experience we will never forget. It was quite simply magical.

The whole experience was superbly organized by the Untravelled Paths team and our two guides, Marius G and Dragos, were both superstars. Their knowledge and enthusiasm throughout was so engaging.

Thank you everyone at Untravelled Paths for making our trip to Romania an absolutely fantastic experience.

We've just arrived home from our fourth trip with Untravelled Paths - all of which have been excellent.



We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Romania but it has since been totally eclipsed by the Albanian Alps, Slovenian Husky and White Water Rafting experience in Montenegro - they were all beyond incredible, I can't pick a favourite.



All of these tours were lead by Ilija - an informative but never intrusive host, genius (albeit self-proclaimed) and all around good guy (despite being a Liverpool fan). With an ability to endure our British humour with a smile, alongside an unbreakable dedication to ensure each individual guest's enjoyment, he has made each trip exactly what we wanted it to be, and more.



From the initial booking enquiries right through to the drivers in each country everyone associated with UTP could not be more friendly or helpful. We eagerly await more experiences to be added so we can travel with you again.

We travelled as a couple on the Ice Hotel Experience and have already recommended Untravelled Paths to anyone who will listen. I cannot speak highly enough of our guide Marius(couldn't have asked for anyone better) or the Ice Hotel package. The 4 day trip was really well organised; hotels all great choices and the ice hotel and snow activities were something we won't forget. From booking to contacting staff for advice before we went right through to the end of our trip was all seemless. Excellent all round!

We just returned to the USA after the most amazing 5-day trip to Montenegro.

Ilija was a wonderful guide, knowledgable about his country’s history and rich culture, and he was extremely helpful and flexible; nothing was too much trouble.

The travelling was well organised and the accommodation well chosen. We really enjoyed the isolation and tranquility of the ‘shepherds huts’ at Katun Vranjak, the white water rafting on the Piva river and walking up to the San Giovanni Fortress in Kotor. Montenegro is such a stunningly beautiful country and we now wish we had booked a longer stay!

This was our second trip with Untravelled Paths (we spent an unbelievable 5 days in Romania and the Ice Hotel in 2015), and we would travel with you again in a heartbeat and recommend the experience to everyone we know!

We have just returned from the mini Montenegro experience, as part of a longer trip to the area. We absolutely adored the ‘mini’ experience, and managed to squeeze in some zip wiring and rafting between the stunning scenery. We travelled as a family of four (kids 10 and 8 ) were incredibly well looked after (thanks Ilija and drivers), and the kids had a fantastic time. Thoroughly recommended!

Through the Carpathian Mountains

We saw where vlad the impaler may be buried, where he was born, where he lived and the famous bran castle

We saw so much and did so much

It was a trip to treasure always

I will definitely be going on a another trip with them in the future and hope Marius is our guide !

We have been on 2 trips with UTP - Ice Hotel & Montenegro - both have been 2 of the best trips we have ever done. They really are excellent value for money & what makes them so great is you do see places that you never would as a 'standard' tourist.

Both guides we have had have been brilliant - they are locals who speak excellent English. The most recent one Ilija (Montenegro) was such a nice bloke & very helpful/informative/accommodating.

Highly Recommended & will definitely be doing more trips with them in the future.

This was the first time I had used this company, so as one can be, I was a little nervous. However, the trip was over and beyond what I could ever even dreamt of! The whole experience was completely flawless, the places we visited were extremely high-end and luxurious. I felt as if we truly saw the absolute best of Morocco. The best part was that we could just sit back and enjoy ourselves without worrying about a thing! I cannot WAIT to travel with Untravelled Paths again!

Spent a wonderful 5 days in Montenegro; breathtaking scenery, amazing food, interesting trips and the help, hospitality and warmth of everyone we met.



Our happy memories include:

a scrumptious feast by the waterside in Perest; the amazing vistas, including the scary road trips; exploring Kotor on George’s city tour; learning about bee keeping and the king Njeguši; walking tour in the mountains and the boat trip on Piva Lake



Particular credit to Ilija, for putting the tour together, translating our needs to the locals and for working so hard to ensure our holiday was a resounding success.

It was! And Montenegro will always occupy a special place in our hearts.

So the girlfriend wanted to go on the ‘Dracula Experience’ in Romania (well she is a bit weird like that) and while I agreed to go I can’t say that it was on my bucket list.



HOWEVER....



I have to say that following the trip I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the ambience of Bucharest, the beauty of Sighisoara, the amazing Transylvanian scenery to the fantastic bear hide.



More importantly than that though was our guide/driver/comedian? Marius G brought this fantastic country to life with a knowledge of both ancient and recent history that added so much to the overall experience. His infectious passion for his home country really made the whole tour such a wonderful journey.

Recently back from a great week in Montenegro with friends, for us it was a perfect mixture of different activities: wandering the old town of Kotor, swimming in the crystal clear sea after visiting the World Heritage Site of Perast, lazing on a yacht, then heading to the national parks and staying in mountain cabins, lakes, walks and beautiful views as well as some adrenaline pumping white water rafting and zip lining.

I don’t tend to travel on organised tours but we could not have organised such a varied tour ourselves, it was great value for money and it definitely felt as if we were on some ‘untravelled paths’. Our drivers were experienced, friendly and made us feel safe on the mountain roads.

Our guide Ilija spoke excellent English and was so helpful with keeping things flexible for us, helping us do everything we wanted to and to get the most out of his beautiful country, thank you Ilija!

I will be checking out other Untravelled Paths tours!

Our Brown Bear experience was amazing & we would highly recommend it. Our guide Christina was lovely & friendly, the Hotels we stayed in were central & meant we could continue exploring by ourselves when we had free time. We were lucky enough to be part of a wonderful group of 14people who helped make the whole experience fab’ for us. A visit to the Bear Sanctuary is a must.

On the 19th January 2018 we embarked on an adventure for The Mini Ice Hotel Experience. What a breath taking trip and so well organised . I can't quite believe what we managed to see and do in 4 days!! Both hotels were stunning and the Ice hotel exceeded all expectations. The views on the cable car were indescribable! The snow activites were so much fun and suitable even if you're a wimp like me! Make your bed as instructed and you stay toasty warm all night. Our dining experience was fab with plenty to eat and drink and you can dance the night away! We had plenty of time to sight see in each town. Big shout out to Marius G our guide. He made our trip so much fun and looked after us all making sure we wanted for nothing. I could go on but I cannot do it justice. Just book the trip and experience it all for yourselves! 5 star experience!

Just had a fantastic trip on the brown bear experience. Thoroughly enjoyable, we had a brilliant guide (Dragos), stayed in lovely hotels perfectly located in Bucharest and Brasov AND we saw brown bears in the wild. � We highly recommend to book on the nature walk and bbq too. We walked through beautiful mountain landscapes and alpine meadows following in brown bear footprints, literally with our knowledgable guide Dana Marin. We met lovely people in our small group of 8. We met as strangers and left as friends. Thank you for a wonderfully designed tour. Bring on the iberian lynx in January 2019. Can’t flippin wait �

Just come back from the Transylvanian Experience. I wanted to see wild bears and I certainly did and lots more besides.



Beautiful contryside, the most charming guide, Georgian, who made the whole trip enjoyable.



I loved the places we visited. It was a really varied trip with a different experince every day But lots of little things like seeing wild flowers everywhere, the taste of the amazing home grown tomatoes and the seeing the million stars at night made it all very special.

It is a holiday I will remember for a long time.

Just came back from a wonderful holiday in Romania organised by Untravelled Paths. Bucharest was full of really interesting history and culture and the countryside is beautiful. Marius was a fantastic guide that gave great recommendations of places to eat and do as well as organised private tours. Great value for money and would definitely recommend this company!

Just back from a fantastic week’s holiday on the Transylvania Experience. Great group of 12 people, excellent small coach and driver and outstandingly brilliant tour guide in Georgian Stancu. He was amusingly informative, well organised, extremely patient and also willing to join in the fun. The hotels we stayed in were all of good quality but the Inn on Balaban was breathtaking and Viscri 125 quite luxurious - unexpectedly so given the traditional Romanian village setting. I feel we got a genuine taste of Transylvania but without the hassle of having to organise everything ourselves. Excellent value for money, too. I would highly recommend this trip.

I joined the Transylvania Experience in June and fell in love with the country and the people. There’s so much culture and history and Untravelled Paths have put together a great itinerary that shows the variety of the country, with a good balance of organised activities and free time. The team is organised and helpful so the booking process was easy and the itinerary was very detailed.



There were so many highlights but my favourites were the bear hide, the Libearty Sanctuary, the little town of Viscri, and the Inn on Balaban. It would’ve been great to have more time at Balaban – the countryside is stunning.



Dragos, our guide, was fantastic. He’s knowledgeable and passionate about his country, inclusive of all ages, will do anything to help make your trip better, and his infectious personality makes him great fun to be around. Our driver, Aurel, was great too. Both genuinely lovely guys who absolutely made my trip. A big thanks to them both!



I had such a great time, as soon as I left I wanted to go back. I hope I can travel with UTP again soon. Danube Delta next?

Had a wonderful time on our trip to see the Brown bears in Romania. It was such an amazing thing to see them so close up in the wild. Our rep from Untravelled paths was Cristina, she was full of energy, had good knowledge of the areas we stayed in and was fun to be with. The trips included in the holiday where very good and in particular the trip to the Bear Sanctuary. I highly recommend this holiday and Untravelled Paths. We were a party of 8 which was not a problem for this company.
