Uplands Garden Restaurant & Hotel

Great restaurant in a great location with stunning views. Staff and owners were very friendly. Service was perfectly timed and food was delicious and reasonably priced. (Not like some of the more pretentious eating establishents in Cartmel)! We will definately go again as have been twice now and it has been consistently excellent.

Very disappointing. Arrived at 16:30 and only offered the evening meal menu which was nothing like the menus we were expecting from the website.

Great hosts. Lovely setting. Great views over Morecambe Bay. Great wood burning fire on terrace. X

Lovely hotel with great views and we'll looked after. Staff are friendly and the rooms are very comfortable and spacious.

Just stayed for two days in Kent room, was lovely room with great views , mattress a bit to soft on back but you can't have everything, staff was lovely and friendly, food was very nice complement s to chef , will definitely go back in future, felt at ease and relaxed with wonderful staff

We had lunch here. The food was dreadful. The nachos were literally just plain tortillas with a light scattering of grated cheese heated, and then a dip of pre bought salsa and a dip of mayonnaise. Revolting. No guacamole, no refried beans, no sour cream, no interest in eating it thanks.

The lasagne was heavy, huge and the pasta very soggy. I ate about a quarter of it. And so impossibly salty! Vile. The garlic bread that came with it was dripping in oil.

A meat pie was bland inside, the crust overbaked so it was tough as leather. We didn't have the impression anything was prepared or cooked to order.

The place itself is very tired. I wouldn't recommend eating or staying here on that basis, but I didn't see the rooms. There are much nicer places in the area, and it's places like this that give British food a bad name.

Service was very pleasant. Lovely views across the bay.
