I smelt my fingers one day and they smelt like rusty bananas. UCC toilet handles are disgusting, they literally look like someone has rubbed their sloppy arse on them. Janitors like to shout at students for fun, because they see it as "entertainment". I once fell over and grazed my knee and it smelt funny, I then rubbed it and now I have hairy warts on my fingers, thanks a lot school :).

Ucc is probably the worst school in Rutland, the children are miserable and the teachers are useless. Would not recommend sending anyone there as their not actually going to be taught anything due to the general lack of effort from certain teachers who are biast towards the majority of students. Students are trapped in classrooms for up to two hours and aren’t allowed out unless they’re one of the few the teacher favours, and if they do dare to ask to leave they’ll either be screamed at or send down to the crumbling remove block which like most of the school is falling down and isn’t even a real building. The school cares more about their reputation and building a new sports hall than the students who go there and their progress.

Very Very good school with outstanding staff, facilities and results.

My children go to UCC and they love it the teachers go above and beyond to make sure the student can achieve the best. The food is superb and my children have nutritious meals every day.

At my child's previous school he struggled to fit in but here he has loads friends.

I understand why it is called Uppingham Community College, because it is a lovely community of friendship.

It can be a very nice place, the food is actually really good and the education is pretty good. I can't exactly fault that. But. Of course there are downsides to this place. The staff on some days can be rude and most of the time they NEVER sort out bullying problems. If you would like your child to be bullied or have homophobic/sexist comments spoken toward them then send them here. If not id either advise sorting the staff out to help students or don't send your child here. But overall if there weren't any bullying or anything then this school would be a pretty good school

Well bullying isn't sorted properly, they offer counselling but never actually provide it (they seem to completely forgot/ just simply don't care about the well being of their students and treat mental health like a joke), you get put in remove for absolutely nothing and the "no blame policy" used for bullying means that the victims are blamed just as much as the bully is for them being bullied. We aren't allowed our blazers off even if we are boiling because its "against the rules" and "makes the school look scruffy" which shows that they care more about how our school looks and the image they show to others rather than the actual students. The education's pretty good but it's a school full of teenagers who have a lot of stress put on them so the social and mental aspects are just as important as the education. The school's doing their best for education despite being incredibly low on money though so i respect them for that.

Dear whom it may concern,
We are writing this to inform the reader about our experiences at Uppingham Community College.
The school has a good education system, great GCSE results. Pretty good for an average school. A supportive homework system and teachers with personality.
However, the school lacks in key areas to help and support children in modern day society. In the 21st century things such as gay rights, equality etc, are becoming more well known and more crucial. Regardless of this, Uppingham Community College has done nothing to support or encourage understanding of these issues that we face in society. For example, the recent Orlando shooting was not even touched upon by any Authorities within the college. Instead "important topics" such as inspirational quotes were covered instead. Considering the fact that a number of students were affected by this due to their sexuality and gender orientation we, the student body deem this wildly inappropriate and not helpful.
This is not the only case of the school authorities forgetting their influential values towards their students mental growth. The college did not support nor acknowledge the existence of mental health week, body positivity week or lgbt+ month which are all ways that the school can both educate and support students with these life destroying problems that are faced daily. This can also incorporate social aspects as raising money for charities that benefit those suffering from mental health issues such as mind. Due to the lack of education on this subject, derogatory terms including but not limited to racist, sexist and homophobic terms being used without punishment even if teachers are present. In the real world, this behavior is not tolerated nor appropriate therefore we feel this level of appreciation and respect should be expressed and maintained throughout the college. Not only this, but the school does not support nor educate its pupils on the causes, precautions and symptoms of mental health problems. Instead of teaching us this, the school decides to teach us about pointless arbitrary nonsense such as why “drugs are bad kids”. Which is a good topic, but with many PSHE lessons the topic is broad and not well covered. For instance a Year 9 class on drugs talks about class A, B, C drugs and their consequences, but seems to only mention the caffeine drug as a little spin off for hipsters, and doesn't even mention tobacco in any way.
Overall we, the collective student body, feel that Uppingham Community College is a school with a test oriented “in school society” which doesn’t allow students to be open minded and creative. Ergo, “it’s all about the next test”. The student body recognises that Uppingham Community College is guided by the curriculum but to balance out, that “in school society”, Uppingham Community College could open doors to mental health and students growing their personal opinion.

This school is probably one of the worst for taking care of bullying. They either tell you to 'ignore it' or they say they will "sort it out". In reality what they actually do is just do nothing. Education is good but the teachers do not really care about your health. This brings me on to the medical department. If you are ill they will say "take an ice pack and go back to your class" as they think ice packs sort everything. Even if you had a broken arm they would just give you an ice pack. Janitors are ok, except from one (Mr Rootham) of them who says "NO EATING IN THE CORRIDORS" or "GET OFF THE GRASS, YOUR STAINING IT" and a good classic "TUCK YOUR SHIRT IN". Even if they saw you getting mugged they wouldn't care. But oh well it's mainly about the look of their school and education not about our health. So if you are looking for your child to have a straight education, with no disruptions then I wouldn't recommend coming here. #Stillbetterthancatmosethough #missmcgregordevil
