User

great place , friendly staff & i've heard they make the best hot chocolates ever

User

You need to start a live stream every Saturday so I can party from Leeds.

User

Went here for the first time on Saturday and it was great! I'm from Sheffield so we have a Place up here called Corp which is similar but 100% this is a better night for the sole reason that the playlist isn't from 2003.

10/10 would reccomend.

User

Want to thank he door staff as my boyfriend slipped and severely damaged the tendons in his foot while he was in the pit. They arranged a taxi for us and got us a good deal for us to get to the hospital... very helpful to us... love the place .. there most weekends! Cheers guys!

User

The music is ever evolving and I'm always surprised every time I go.

I was a bit worried when Eddie's died that I'd only be left with pop punk in uprawr but the music is bold, the staff are cool and the audience DJ/audience participation, makes it seem like a holiday in Ibiza more than a rock night in Birmingham. Magic.

User

The most layed back friendly bad ass place ive ever been to in brum, Even in the mosh pits. Staff are awesome, and the bar round the back are always giving out cheap blow jobs.

User

Sick night!!

User

Really nice place, good atmosphere and staff are really considerate and patient. Never really had a problem, drinks are cheap and music is great, people in the club are really helpful in the mosh pit if you fall. You don't feel judged your just comfortable with other metal heads. Some people do push past and be a bit shitty but meh what can you do? One of my favourite places to go for a night out.

User

Really friendly and helpful staff and the communal area is great. Will be back!

User

Never a bad night in here, always males me sad because I dont live close enough to go every saturday

User

My first ever time at Uprawr and I was looked after so well! Curtis and the team were great and made sure we were okay all night. Awesome music. Great vibe. What more do you want??? Can't wait until next time! X

User

Literally the only club I go to on a regular basis and I just can't get enough of this place. I love the music, I love the atmosphere, I love the staff and I love the people.

User

I'm a regular and I love it here... The people, the music and the staff are all brilliant!

User

I was the Santa last night and I didn't mind getting photos with people but the drinks I received were great! Thanks again to the staff!

User

I love going there cause so much variety of music and people there i think it's great

User

I left a review on my first time visiting but i’m gonna rewrite it for the sake of things. Recent times have saw Uprawr getting some heat in their reviews - which, might I add, are completely inaccurate - so here’s my take on things.

Uprawr is one of the best places to go on a night out for me personally - and yes, that is a particular opinion, not just because of the cheap drinks and excellent music. The whole point of Uprawr, to me, is a place where you can be yourself and rock out without having to care. I’ll say this from the outset - if you don’t like heavy music, moshpits, or if you care a little too much about social norm and conforming to expectation, Uprawr is not for you. If, like me, you just want to go all out and not have a care in the world while you headbang, air guitar, mosh, and drink with your closest friends and the community, come on down and make a bloody good night of it.

Some reviews mention a “sexualisation of women” and that just totally isn’t the case. Girls AND guys get to wear WHATEVER they want and there is no problem with it at all. The girls get to wear whatever they want, and there is no intent to purposefully sexualise them, not by a long shot. Men have worn EXACTLY the same things - I’ve seen three blokes in corset dresses with my own eyes - political correctness has no place at Uprawr and that’s one of the things that everyone loves! I attended last night’s St Trinian’s Party complete with skirt, knotted shirt and tie, and nobody cared because they were wearing exactly the same thing, and I even got compliments on my costume!

Now, the Uprawr community - one of the greatest communities i have had the pleasure of being involved in. Rocking out with strangers, making wonderful friends who i see on a regular occasion, and enjoying eachother’s company all night, all whilst being as carefree as ever. The community always band together and welcome new faces with open arms. The moshpits are always regulated and if ever someone falls over or ends up on the floor they are on their feet, picked up by complete strangers, in less than a second. Everyone looks out for everyone regardless of the fact that they may be complete strangers.

The staff are absolutely flawless and genuinely look like they love their jobs. Always on hand with a smile on their faces, even during busy nights, the staff have always got on with their jobs and remain some of the friendliest people in Uprawr. I cannot commend them enough, they are absolutely wonderful people.

The security cannot be faulted either, and are always making sure that things are running smoothly. The security always speak with respect, asking if i could be pat down before commencing and asking for a bag search with such respect and politeness. Conduct and communication with security has always been done on the basis of respect and I have often seen security members smiling, rocking out with the rest of us whilst doing their jobs, and making sure nothing goes amiss in the pits.

I’ve heard the traffic light stickers got some heat on twitter for the choice words emblazoned upon them - and for god’s sake, it’s only a bit of fun! Get off your soap boxes and stop being so sensitive - it does not affect the rest of Uprawr one bit and it is still a wonderful place, for rockers, for metalheads, for people who feel like they don’t belong, for people who think today’s music is absolute cack and would rather stick with something that makes a GOOD noise.

I love Uprawr and always will. I’ve never had a bad night there and made amazing mates along the way. And I won’t stop going.

User

I have been coming to this club for years and I still love It especially the themed nights gutted to see such bad reviews if you are going clubbing surely bring cash with you =P the music is always great and the people who work here and the people who come here are always so nice

User

I always have a good time here with my friends. People have moaned about no cash machine and cards are not accepted. Just take some cash, its not hard. Drinks are not expensive and i have never had a problem with anybody there. I have made new friends on uprawr nights out.

User

Going uprawr in March 2016 was such a great night. The DJ was awesome, the set list was great and I won a copy of xeno by crossfaith.

User

Get the party oonnnnn

User

First time visiting the venue, wasn't sure if would be my type of venue/music. But really enjoyed it great atmosphere, great vibe, friendly staff and was with great company and alcohol what more could be asked for :) 5* will be going back

User

Fave club by far :) Everyone is super friendly - both staff and guests - plus the music is obviously great, nowhere else has quite the same atmosphere

User

Epic place! Cheap drinks, hot staff, great music! Even the doormen were friendly (thanks for directing me to the garage for cigarettes - was gasping!) will be there again!

User

Drones have just set off for a mini tour this weekend, and we wanted to a squeeze in a quick rehearsal. Uprawr studios is one the best rehearsal studios iv been too hands down. Friendly staff and the rooms sounded great! Clean, and stage lighting to boot!

User

Curtis said if I did this I'd get my own DJ slot where I can play deathcore and black metal.

User

Best night out in Birmingham! Come near enough every weekend and everyone is great, the bar staff are brill too! Cheap drinks and great music! Genuinely my fave place to be! <3

User

Been here like 3 times now and had a great night each time also everyone seems very down to earth.

I loveeeeeee the slushies

User

Always have a great time. Drinks are cheap, music is awesome and the people there are amazing company. Can wear what you like and not feel judged like you might do in broadstreet. It's a win win ;D

User

Always a great night. Go with friends and make new ones while getting good priced drinks from polite staff

User

Absolutely love uprawr great music, great people, amazing atmosphere = awesome night! <3

User

Been an awesome night for Halloween apart from arguing with the ‘manager’ at the first bar about the inch worth of froth on my pint.... didn’t want a flake with mine! still a great night though!!

User

Music was decent. Alcohol price is great. However, if your standing near “the mosh pit” and a dude pushes you on the floor and push him off you, leading to the fact you getting kicked out. Fuck off

User

Great music, atmosphere, and a good club in general. But no card machine on door, so we had to walk ages to find an ATM which sucked as were not from Bham.

Also why the sexualisation of women? None of the female bar staff had trousers on, all in pants and bras which doesnt really sell anything to us women clubbers. And the dancers as well? Why? Women arent a sale item, dont use us as a way of getting horny boys to come to your club. Its 2018, if youre gonna have sexualised staff, make sure its men AND women.

User

As a Londoner and a Face Down goer it was a good atmosphere, the standard rude customer... Two downsides is that they don't take card and nearest place is not an ATM but a petrol station that does cash back for £1.75 and that on 3-4 occasions bar staff got my order wrong, meaning I just couldn't drink what I'd paid for :(

User

Had some good times here and some bad. The music is alright and never had a problem with the staff however I have with a lot of the people after doing nothing wrong. I've seen lots of people jumping on the negative reviews and just insulting the person writing it, which lets be honest, just proves my point! Don't think I will be back here for a long while.

User

Where to start with this place. In my three years of clubbing in Birmingham I have never had anything bad to say about the places I've been to but Uprawr has officially changed that. It is by far one of the worst places I have ever been to for a multitude of reasons.

Firstly what club has no card machines or atm in it? Literally why? It's 2016 and it is so backwards that there no actual method of paying by card save for walking a stupid distance to an atm outside the club. I wish I just carried on walking away because that would have been so much better for me.

Secondly there is actually no real way to see how much the drinks cost. Going to the bar and seeing a board that has prices is basically a fart in the wind. The prices on the board weren't even correct and to see the actual prices I had to go to another bar in the club to see then. I mean why would.you do that. It's not hard to print out a piece of A4 and laminate it with basic prices on it and that would actually help rather than just some stupid guessing game for a drink.

As for the venue itself I thought it looked good. It's nice to see somewhere rocking that dingy look since old snobs and hey at least the costumes the bartenders were in were well thought out. The music however was in all parts dubstep of songs that I didn't even recognise. What's the point of dubstep if you can't sing three words before throwing yourself about for 10 minutes. Absolutely stupid.

Finally and this is by far the worst are the people that go there. In my entire university life here the crowd that go to uprawr sell themselves as pioneers of nights out. They believe themselves to be different to the average broad Street clubber. Okay I will admit they are different but oh God they are so much worse than any other group I have met in my entire life. They are by far the most pretentious people I have ever had to deal with. They believe they are gods gift to the world but they are not. They are rude. They are mopey. They lost any concept of fun years ago when they started going there. I have never had to deal with confrontation before in my entire life but the people here are so self entitled that they tried to start a fight for no other reason than being in our space in a kinda empty room. Give me the broad Street clubbers any day of the week at least they are accepting and nicer than the people that go to this club.

It will be a cold day in hell before I go to this place ever again
