About Urban Funk Street Dance
Specialist Street Dance classes in Chorley and Wigan. Part of Willpower Theatre and Dance Academy. For ages 3-Adult. Opportunities to do shows, competitions and exams. We have been running since 2003! SDI Under 16 British Street Dance champions 2012.
Urban Funk Street Dance Description
Street and break dance classes and workshops covering all aspects of Street dance (including breaking, popping, locking, hip-hop etc). We also offer classes in Contemporary and Jazz Dance. We will update this page with upcoming events and workshops. There are opportunities to take street dance exams, and to get involved in performances and competitions. We have 3 award winning crews of different ages that compete on a regional and national level. We have a strong emphasis on performance and always work on routines in all classes.
All classes take place at The Buckley Theatre School, on Great George Street near Wigan Town Centre (see full address above)

7. 00-7. 45 Adult Street Dance (16 + Improvers /intermediate)

5. 15 -5. 45 Infant Street Dance (3-5yrs)
5. 45-6. 30 Grade 1 Street dance Exam class (10 + )
7. 00-7. 45 Teens Street Dance (10-16yrs)
7. 45-8. 30 Jazz Dance (adults and teens)

WIGAN Dancers âźď¸ Please remember that the Presentation evening forms need to be in before Saturday, when we close for half term. If you canât get the money to us you can pay after half term, but please take a photograph of your completed form, and PM it to Us so we have numbers to order the awards for the night. If you cannot attend you can still nominate so please forward this to us too. Or you can bring them back to class this week. If you werenât at class last week, make sure to collect a letter this week. Thank you! xx
We have been asked to perform at this event! If anyone would like to come along to perform solos/duos or exam dances you are welcome to. I would also like us to perform our two crew dances âSynergyâ (Wednesday Chorley Seniors) and âKid Instinctâ (Thursday Crew Class) Please let me know if you can Make it!
âźď¸ Mayâs fees are due tonight at Southlands please- itâs ÂŁ18 for the month. Summer Term fees are also due next week at Buckleyâs. ÂŁ45 which will take you to July. Thank-you âźď¸

Good Luck to all our Students taking their UDO Academy Street Dance Exams Today! Donât forget to smile and enjoy yourselves!! Please leave plenty time to find the studio if it isnât your usual Dance place. Also please enter the building quietly as the exams will already be in progress!
Address for Sundayâs exam is âThe Buckley Theatre Schoolâ Great George Street, Wigan. WN3 4DP (a few doors down fromLittle Buddies Play Cafe) Please arrive at least 10-15 mins before your exam time. Please make sure hair is neat and off the face (use gel hairspray if needed) and trainers are clean! No jewellery. If you havenât already please bring your exam fee in an envelope with your name on. Thank-you
âźď¸If you have ordered Uniform they will be ready today/tomorrow in class. Please bring Payment if you havenât already.
âźď¸Also if you are doing the exam, please make sure you attend your last class (before the exam on Sunday) and bring your EXAM fee (in an envelope with your childâs name on) if you havenât paid already.

If anyone else would like to enter for the UDO Street Dance exam on Sunday 28th April please let me know by tomorrow morning at the latest. Please donât be put off by the word âEXAMâ - it will basically be just like a class and as long as they can get through It - i.e remember SOME of the dance they will pass and get a certificate! Itâs very informal so nothing to worry about đ we have been working hard in class towards these exams for some time so will be nice for the children to get something to show for it. Our exam date has been confirmed as SUNDAY 28th APRIL and will take place at The Buckley Theatre School on Great George Street,Wigan. Times to be confirmed. If you would like your child to take part in the examination please let me know, I need their full name and D.O.B. There is a cost to the exams they are between ÂŁ14 and ÂŁ30 depending on grade. All info will also be going out on letters this week đ
IN ALL OUR STREET DANCE CLASSES WE HAVE BEEN WORKING HARD ON THE STREET DANCE EXAM SYLLABUS. We have put in a date request for the exams to be on Sunday 28th April. As soon as the date has been confirmed letters will be given out in class with more info etc.
Wigan classes are still on this week! Chorley classes we are off for half term
