Many people pour their hearts and souls into making sure that their music students succeed - no one more than Nadia Boulanger. She was one of the most influential music teachers of all time.

Did you know? The #contrabassoon is the instrument that has the lowest pitch in an entire orchestra! The only instrument that can go lower is called an Imperial Bösendorfe (which should tell you a lot about how common those are).

If you're looking for something a little more challenging, try "The Swinging Roundabout" as a saxophone quartet! This tune is inspired by 50's era big bands and it's sure to get your foot tapping!

Playing in a Jazz group can be one of the most enjoyable ways of exploring melodies and harmonies on any instrument. That's why I've written "Borrowed from Borodin". Its simple melody can be easy to improvise around and it's written for a variety of instruments.

Classical music is there to accompany us throughout our entire lives. One very special occasion that comes to mind is a wedding procession. When the bride walks down the aisle, there are many different pieces that can play in the background. Some of the most popular are "Here comes the bride" and "Canon in D Major".

Fantastic news! The government have released a news story that says that 700,000 school children are benefiting from "Music Hubs". Nick Gibbs, the School Standards Minister, said: "Learning a musical instrument opens all kinds of opportunities for children to express themselves, whether it’s being part of a band or orchestra or just playing for pleasure at home."
Hopefully we can look forward to more uplifting news about how our children are growing up with instruments in hand. You can read the full article by following the link: https://loom.ly/0xNWl_g

Useful Music's founder, Graham Lyons, designed the clarinéo because, in his words, the standard clarinet was "anything but child-friendly...it's too heavy and the holes are too large".
To solve that problem, he invented the clarinéo, now distributed worldwide to younger music students. "Young children make a better sound on the clarinéo than on a B-flat clarient because they can control it better", says Graham.
