End of term canoe build update: Work on our canoe build project has been a little slow of late whilst the students have been out on work experience or busy with their mock exams. We’re still making progress though and while it doesn’t look like much has changed, we have managed to fill all of the chines with thickened epoxy (including the holes left by the cable ties), sanded the exterior and started applying fibreglass tape to the inside of the joints.

We are closed now for the Easter Holidays. We hope all our staff and students enjoy the break and look forward to welcoming everyone back to college on Tuesday 23 April

Hope our marine biology enrichment group enjoy their day UoP Marine BiologyUniversity of Portsmouth's Institute of Marine Sciences tomorrow. They will be carrying out practicals in the state of the art marine labs as well as having a guided tour of all the facilities.

Warhammer update - Our "Warriors" did very well and UTC Portsmouth got 3 of the 7 awards available, but unfortunately one was not a place in the finals. Of particular note was Jack Hall's award for "Most fun to play with". A great result considering approximately 20 teams competing. On the way back from Nottingham now, well done to everyone who took part today.

Amazing visit to the Houses of Parliament for three of our sixth formers yesterday.

Our Year 11s are taking part in an exam focus day today, which includes sessions on time management, how to revise, relaxation techniques and a walking, talking mock.

Our students have arrived at HMS Sultan, Gosport to participate in the Royal Navy Engineering Challenge. This year's challenge, titled Exercise 'DOWNBIRD RECOVERY', is to build a vessel and recovery vehicle capable of collecting the simulated broken helicopter and taking it back to the repair facility. It seems such a long time ago when the challenge was set last September so the students are really excited to be putting their designs to the test today.

Huge thank you to Hampshire Harriers Wheelchair Basketball Club for another fantastic session with our students today. They have also very kindly donated us these two wheelchairs to enable any students joining with mobility issues to take part in more PE sessions but also to use as a teaching aid for our sports leaders to adapt the sessions they run for all abilities.

Great to visit three of our Year 12s today out on their work experience with our employer partner Tecsew Ltd . They were definitely impressing the directors with their ability to pick up new tasks and software quickly.
