This poor guy had come a cropper and snapped its neck. Glue time.

Korean-made 90s acoustic with fibreglass bowl body. This one had knackered electrics and a bit of general grot and grime so got the full VGR spruce.

A few more small repair jobs that have come through recently.

A total bargain on eBay. £16 for a bona fide classic that I've been coveting for a long time. Infinite. Repeats.
**HERE COMES THE SCIENCE PART** The DOD DFX9 was released in 1990 as a competitor to Boss's DD3 digital delay, before being discontinued in 1998. Delay ranged from 3.5ms to 1000ms, with between 1-20 repeats. UNLESS the Infinite Repeats setting was engaged, at which point the pedal would happily play the recorded sample to itself until the sun eventually engulfed the earth. Or something.

A heavily modified guitar in need of some serious TLC.

A nice 12AX7 vacuum valve-based OD pedal that needed a new enclosure to make it more gig-worthy.

As some/most/none of you will know, I've lately become obsessed with building pedals. This album showcases a handmade board - soon to be used with my new band, MELVA - on which 8 of the 11 pedals are VGR builds.

A selection of guitars that have come through the workshop in recent times.

Well, turns out I'm not very good at this 'internet presence' thing. I've been doing some great projects over the last few months, so I reckon I should post a bit of progress.

Unidentified single cutaway that turned out to be a 24yr-old Gordon Smith.

User

A single pickup guitar made from a salvaged work surface and a second hand Dean neck.

How do? As threatened/promised, I've uploaded some pictures of the modifications I did to the Morley CWA Wah pedal. For the boost I used an LPB-1 circuit, as made by Electro-Harmonix - you can find the layout at the link below.
Happy fiddling. And happy New Year, obvs.

The Morley is a notorious tone- and volume-sucker, even when bypassed, so I decided to add a linear boost circuit to bring the output up towards unity.

User

A busted Morley CWA compact wah pedal, bought for $30 from Marty Sherman of South Beach Music Exchange (a great place to spend all of your money...). After a transatlantic flight and about 20 seconds of tinkering, it was working beautifully. Next project is to install a linear booster to cancel the volume-drop when it engages. I know you're all aching to hear about that one...
Happy holidays, everyone.

A parlour-sized acoustic made in Bavaria, possibly even as long ago as the 1950s.

User

A veteran noise machine with a few quirks and rough edges, brought in for a bit of love.

A gorgeous beast, also belonging to Lucie from Scrounge. (https://www.facebook.com/helloscrounge). Seriously, check them out - they're ace!
