Just got home today from a fantastic week. They were all very helpful in the reception the staff in there are all lovely. Chip shop wasn’t very good though seemed to only open when they felt like it and not when they should, also disappointed with the pizza place being closed all week, but on the whole excellent place to stay will definitely be going back.

User

Just back from a 2 weeks break, stayed in the swallow caravan with balcony. Lovely clean and well equipped smaller than what we usually stay in but it did the job.

The park is great loads on for kids and adults!. The pool is fantastic esp the pool parties, its like been abroad with the outside pool when the weather is nice.

Ate a few times in the redcutters restaurant. Food was very nice although the till service was slow for high season more than one member of staff should be serving.

Had fish & chips take away from the site they were just like a proper fish shop . Beautiful.

Also had pizza, we watched them make the pizza base. Good stuff and tasted yummy.

My 2 year old son loved the toddler session every morning with peep squeak.

The tree top park is great for the older kids, maybe a smaller park could be made for the younger children.? Swings slide?

Entertainment was fabulous on a night time getting all the family involved.

I also won the bingo last night!!

Fantastic Family holiday we will definitely be back.

User

Aww what an amazing hoilday we have just finished at vauxhall 1st time we have been and will Not be out last, their was me and my husband and our 2 children aged 9 and 1 they have had an amazing time and not stopped, the staff could not do enough for you and the kids club staff etc are amazing with the children and they work sooo hard we had an plover caravan 142 number a lovely caravan couldn't fault it!!! the hoilday Park is perfectly located asda /aldi just 5mins drive and great Yarmouth sea front about 15mins up road, is lovely to vist parking is £7 but for all day and the rides etc r all cheap once your their £1 upwards!! We will definitely be returning if you want a great time. And great laugh with your family this is defo the site to chose we didn't want to come home

User

Absolutely fantastic place for a family holiday, not really for teenagers but great for kids. Good clean caravans, very secure park, fantastic entertainment and all the staff a very nice, polite and happy. Only 1 negative thing was the food and drinks are a bit expensive, but I suppose you pay for what you get.

Highly recommended, and we will definitely be returning next year

User

We had a lovely time here me and my partner, however we did come at out of peak season so we didnt have to worry about much of a disturbance. We thought it was good value for money, we stayed in a mallard 4. On site facilities was good, staff seemed very friendly. We was however disapointed that the pizza place was closed all week and only open at the weekend which was no good for use as we stayed mon-fri. The restaurant i feel however is very expensive for what you get. The mini golf was fun. We enjoyed the arcades too. There was a horrid smell all week from the drains too. We will be returning. I came here as a kid and ive got to admit it was much better under the old owners. Place step up ur game. Oh and the tv was down for two days because of a update.

User

We are regulars to the park with our children and other family members during August bank holiday week but due to the increase in prices this year we came last week for a short break at a good price. Finch caravan was lovely, area quiet around Van, kids loved the new characters, although my eldest was still pleased to see Louie the Lion

Swimming pool closes too early, if you want to go out of camp you’ve either got to go swimming at 10 or be back by 3 to get a decent amount of time before it closes, if the activities after closing aren’t being booked up the pool should stay open a lot longer like it used to so it doesn’t take over the day you’ve got planned. The green pool slide now has a height restriction so my eldest had to use the red one which is not a problem but when the life guards are alternating manning them they only open one every half hour which gets frustrating for the children waiting to use them. One morning the red slide was not opened until 11.20 and that was only after my husband spoke to the manager so think this needs addressing.

Didn’t use the restaurant or food facilities, would normally use Teds but only open on weekends? Bin was not emptied on arrival and still not two days later so I had to speak to reception but apart from those few gripes we would return probably during term time as it’s a lot cheaper!

User

Paid for early check in- huge que leading out of reception door. Maybe more staff on at that time to make it more efficient? Stayed in kestrel caravan at back of park. Kestrel was better then thought would be.Really nice location besides the pigeons waking us early by making noises on roof constantly and the industrial estate behind. Nice to be away from rest of park though!Enjoyed the reedcutters restaurant- very quick service and good food! Enjoyed kids entertainment. 2 lightbulbs not working in caravan, net curtains had holes in,fridge/freezer not working as best it could and cobwebs in caravan- overall quite clean but needed a higher standard of tlc! Strange musty smell in kitchen- even after cleaned it myself! Pipe not connected properly at back of caravan causing a leak on the ground from kitchen sink.Enough space on decking outside to put couple of chairs! Swimming pool was enjoyable. Park is in very good location. No problems with rubbish. Overall clean well presented site. More play equipment for toddlers would be better- luckily found small park for them hidden at back of the site.

User

Love this park! Been coming for years and still love it. Cannot fault the entertainment team, Justin and James in particular are an asset to you. Slightly changed since the company take over, and the park isn't as well kempt. Was here during the water pipe burst and staff were excellent, even receiving text message up dates.

However, on a different note, my partners parents arrived whilst we were still here, and their caravan absolutely honked!! Despite reporting it on several occasions, housekeeping ended up coming at 6.00pm on a Sunday, and nothing could be done until the Monday. They then had to spend the whole day out of their van whilst an 'ozone' machine was in use. They should never have been placed in the van in the first place, it was rancid and the cushions were disgusting, with the housekeeping agreeing. This is currently being discussed with Parkdean.

We were on the touring site. Touring facilities weren't bad to be honest. But the rest of the park was a bit of a let down.

We had.to queue for half an hour to get into the pool, despite it not being busy, when we did get in each pool was freezing but we tried to make the most of it. None of the slides were open and the water fountains weren't on either.

We went to the restaurant for dinner... there must have been a maximum of 30 people eating... we were told atleast an hour's wait for food... so we went to find something else... only to find 2 maybe 3 other outlets doing food. Half of the things were closed, but no signs stating this.

How are you going to cope in the main season???

The kids were also disappointed to not see the main starland crazy crew... but your own guys. If you weren't owned by park resorts my children wouldn't have expected it.

For a last minute cheap get away it was fine... but sadly we wouldn't go again or recommend it. Such a shame.

User

Been coming here for 22 years, since I was 3, the best year I had was when I was 12 and Vauxhall’s team, Tim, Kevin, Adam, lee, stepback entertainment, Good Old Tom Devine who I was really sad to hear passed away, since then apart from the revamp of kids play area and arcade, the entertainment has gone downhill, there used to be much more variety, the food outlets are not open like they used to be, the kiosk hasn’t hardly got anything in it anymore. VHP will always be full of good memories to me but I have found myself in the town more than on site this year.

User

We stayed for a week at the end of may, my family have be coming since i was a child and we have never complained or had reason to but this year we felt like the camp we knew had gone, most of the food take out places on the camp were closed, we had breakfast and tea at reedcutters one day we waited over an hour for food the staff were very clearly rushed off their feet whilst management stood by and let it happen two staff on the till that clearly did not have any training on how to work the tills, one girl serving on her own, the v arena at night the bar was unorganised it, there was mo queing system, people pushing in, entertainments team are fantastic could not fault them they were absolutely brilliant this will be our last coming to Vauxhall which is a shame as it means alot to us, park dean resorts you have tried to gox something that wasnt broken

So here on a 2 week break, first time we have been in summer as usually do the October half term week which we have done for nearly 20 years! In a Dove caravan which is lovely but the bedroom is so tiny that we have taken it nights about to sleep on the sofa, it is what it is!!! The fast food is absolutely a disgrace, running out of food, no kebabs yet again (I don’t think they even sell them really), chicken tough as old boots etc etc need I go on. The worst thing though which has prompted me to write this review is that the pool is closing at 4pm for the next 3 days for life guard training!!!!!! This is the middle of summer, a hot summer that we have not had in years, they are having a laugh. We were not told about this training apart from an A5 sign on the pool door. Why on earth are life guards being trained in our pool time, time that we have paid for. This should be done when the pool officially closes, but no, on a red hot day and all the kids want to do now is go in the pool. I am not alone as other parents with kids were turned away at 4pm today from the pool with very upset kids. We work long and hard for our holidays and your actions add to the stress levels - not acceptable! Vauxhall I am sorry to say but this takes the biscuit and I would like a valid explanation for your pool early closure in the middle of the kids holidays, when I am told you are fully booked!!!!!!!!!!

Our caravan bathroom feels like the floor is going to give way at any point ,

Dining chairs are so lose and wobbly frighten to sit on them.

The steps and banisters are filthy & full of cigarette butts ,

Twin room stinks of cigarettes -

chippy on sight is disgusting- chips were inedible and the manager had a serious attitude problem when customers complained...

I won’t be planning on coming back - very disappointed with over all holiday

Came here last week and visited some friends that were staying at the park. My daughter loved the splash park and the rest of it seemed nice as well.

However, we went out to dinner at your main restaurant where there were about 7 other tables either eating or waiting for food. We were told half an hour wait for our food which was fine, after 1 hour 15 minutes our food turned up. The food itself wasn’t bad but the waiting time was atrocious! Your poor staff were running around and clearly there wasn’t enough of them.

One of your waiting staff stopped and had a chat with us and informed us there were only 2 chefs on that night and they just couldn’t keep up with orders. They sounds either very young or inexperienced as the restaurant was not busy at all!

We asked for a full refund of our food which we were given as both our 1 year olds were very upset and hungry and we had missed all the children’s entertainment.

I can’t believe you are letting 16 year olds work in this environment, for a first job it’s incredibly cruel to put them under that much pressure.

If you can’t keep your restaurant staffed properly then just do everyone a favour and close it!

I’ve looked at previous reviews and it seems this has been going on for months and is not a new issue.

The staff you have were lovely and we made sure to give them a nice tip for their hard work.

After a 20 career in the hospitality industry customer service, I don't like complaining or reviewing however after returning this year from Vauxhall I had too.

I have stayed here every year for the past 35 years, and holds many happy family memories. 2018 will be my last visit to the park, as it's becoming apparent parkdean are killing the place. I have sent in a six page complaints letter to parkdean, and it's apparent what the whole company ethos is.

From spider infested caravans to demotivated and rude staff, let alone extortionate prices for bad food and drink it was stressful and not pleasent.

There is one shining light, Clair (I think her name is) was brilliant listening to my concerns and having the only decent customer service.

As a single dad I work hard for my kids to provide a holiday, and being a lone parent away the last thing I wanted was the extra stress.

This used to be a top class family owned park, and those of us lucky enough to remember it's hay day will know how much it's slid. My advice, give Haven your money. So sad and such a shame, as i wanted to share my childhood memories with my children. It appears I'm not the only Vauxhall veteran to feel this way.

We came for a 2 week visit beginning August, we won’t be coming back. Started on arrival touring our folding camper no where to park outside reception ended up blocking the road with a queue outside on the pavement. Set up after finding our plot where there was a drain hole in the grass that had no cover over it, no good especially with a 2 yr old and 5yr old running about. Showers got ridiculously hot to the point I couldn’t stand under it and both my kids were under it when they both started screaming it was that hot! No suitable playground for I’d say under 6yr olds as steps are inadequate on both playgrounds plus the main park not safe for a toddler. Older kids in soft play area kept knocking my little girl over, asked staff on numerous occasions to assist! They did nothing my partner ended up clearing them out. Launderette was closed until 2 days before we left so had to take kids into Great Yarmouth and pay parking fees to wash our clothes. We’re seated in the restaurant ordered and paid for food to then be told 5 mins later the food we ordered wasn’t available and it would be an hour for anything else. Disabled access to the bathrooms not accessible as there was a lip across the bottom of the door so couldn’t get over with a wheel chair or mobility scooter, dish washing facilities were located inside the toilet block, no where for families to go together, no toddler bathing facilities. We queued for 45 minutes to get into the swimming pool which had so much chlorine in it we had to leave as it irritated my sons eyes! The rubbish area although was cleared eventually only contained small rubbish bins meaning bags of rubbish left about which the seagulls took great pleasure in ripping apart throwing rubbish everywhere. These are obviously used to receiving complaints as when I asked for the complaints procedure there was no is there anything we can help, was just given an email address to write too. Oh and the WiFi is rubbish you only get one code to put on one devise, we’re a family of 4 how does that work! Plus it never actually worked but the feedback is it’s a free service so there’s nothing we can do it just doesn’t work sometimes!

User

Was meant to be spending a week here but left a day early. The caravan we were given was too small, missing many of the basic kitchen items and had no carpet sweeper. My father had to buy drain cleaner as the bathroom sinks were blocked by God knows what and water would take forever to drain, the rings on the hob were sticky and thick with grease, it seems the cleaners aren't doing their jobs properly. Shower cubicles were too small if you're of a larger build. The site seems to be plagued by seagulls, maybe it has something to do with the fact that people feed them. The grounds are poorly kept and there is long grass and weeds everywhere, not to mention cigarette butts, rubbish and chicken bones everywhere. There is no proper designated parking for cars so you have to park on the grass outside your caravan. Camp shop prices are extortionate and sell only basic items, thankfully there is an Asda, Aldi and Tesco not too far away. The site has the main road from Norwich to Great Yarmouth right outside the perimeter and consequently there is constant traffic noise, also the railway line is literally just across the road so you hear trains constantly. The swimming pool is far too small for the site and someone has really gone mad with the chlorine as that's the first smell that hits you as you walk through the doors. This holiday park is a dump and if Parkdean want to encourage people to the site they need to smarten it up and improve the facilities. Won't be returning.

User

Parkdene what on earth have you done to vauxhalls!!!!!! I have been coming here in and off for 25 years and we have always had a brilliant time untill this week we arrived Saturday to find checking in procedure had changed we can no longer get the keys early so had to wait until 4pm after being on the road for 6 hrs, we wandered around and decided to get food from reedcutter when it came it was cold and not very nice the menu has completly changed and not for the better we found the staff slow and really don't care about customer service across the whole site with the answer to most questions being I don't know!!!! The night time entertainment used to be amazing jam packed for kids from 6pm till 10pm and if you wherent out early you couldn't get a seat now the entertainment is ridiculas with the entertainment team singing songs from when I was a kid leaving the younger kids bored my 2 have cried to come back to the caravan early 2 nights in a row because there's nothing for them the entertainment team no longer come out on stage and learn the kids the party dances for the week there's long waits in between acts and it's not centred around the kids at all which was one if the things that has kept me coming back the troopers acts are now very dated singing and dancing to songs from the 90s and noughties.. the place is all very dirty and in kept staff are slow and don't care about your stay the pool times are just silly with massive ques to get in then to top it off we decided one night to just get a takeaway the pizza shop was closed, the chicken one was out of chicken fish one out of fish so we settled for just chips got them back to the caravan to find they where cold and black I've paid £1000 for this holiday same price i paid 2 years ago and it's been ruined by the changes park dene have made so it's safe to say after 25 years of coming here we will never be back the place has turned into a disgrace!!!!!!!!! But on a plus the bacon is nice only good bit we've found so far

User

I will not be back. Won’t recommend!

Went on a touring pitch with a tent.

Issues with the water - no toilets (every toilet and shower in the whole place was closed) or drinking water which then meant all restaurants where closed.

When I went to reception the MOST rudest security guard spoke to me and told me to just get on with it! I had 5 under 5s with me! How do I just get on with it in 28c heat!

The site was dirty and I didn’t see a cleaner anywhere.

they didn’t have enough staff no matter where you went.

The life guards spent more time looking at the floor or each other then the children in the pool.
